The door clicked shut on Roger as Shae left the facility. Finally, no one was here to witness what was about to happen. He focused, concentrated on his hatred, anger, and fear. Then, without warning, another feeling demanded attention.
Pain. Horrible pain, without limits or boundaries. Every corner of his body began to burn as the transformation took place. He felt his skin stretch, his bones crack and shift, his sinew and muscles deviate. The darkness retreated to the corners of the room as his vision changed. The scents of hard water, rust, horrible food, and sweat made his head spin. The combination of his heightened senses and heightened pain sent him writhing in agony on the floor of his cage.
And then, as quick as the pain had overtaken him, it left. He gasped, sprawling his limbs in every direction.
The transformation was complete.
He examined his new body. His muscles were incredibly defined, and his entire body was covered in a thin layer of fur. Claws protruded from his fingers and toes, and his ears were now those of a wolf.
He looked around at those in the cells beside him. A teenage boy's torso and arms were locked in some sort of shell, with massive, flexing bands attatching it to the edges of his cell. Whenever the boy moved his legs, the shell sprung about. In the other cage lay a woman that was, from the waist-down, a snake. A forked tongue flickered out from between her thin lips.
Roger grabbed the bars of his cage and pulled them apart. They hadn't taken into account his new form's strength.
"You two ready for a show?" he asked with a grin, releasing the snake first. She slithered out, stretching out.
"Oh, you have no idea," she grinned, slithering over to the boy's cage, "Now, how do we excpect to get him out?" Roger cut through the strands with his claws, and cracked the shell open. The boy did the rest, slamming the shell against the bars. He didn't only shatter the shell, but dented the bars as well.
"Oh, man," he laughed, cracking his back, "That feels good!"
"Are you ready to start some mayhem?" Roger asked, examining his claws.
"Most certainly," the woman replied, "You ready, Lance?"
"Definitely, Morgan."
