Shae stayed in the prison after Mr. Nolman had left. He had seen the way the captive had changed. Though he couldn't read time like his fellow Augmen, he sensed something was seriously wrong.
He turned to Mr. Oakman's cell, his eyes cold and unblinking.
"If you try anything," he whispered, "I will find you and kill you." Mr. Oakman grinne as Shae opened the door out.
"Is that a threat?" he scoffed, his eyes wild with hate. Shae turned around halfway, looking at the floor.
"It is a promise, Mr. Oakman."
