Electricity has finally failed them. No more electricity or gas. It's almost spring. So the weather is getting warmer. Everyone wishes the spring would come soon. So they could plant vegetables. And raise more crops.

Rats have been another problem lately. They have multiplied rapidly. Trying to devour their food if the humans got careless.

Some men have gathered in the diner. A small meeting to discuss future plans.

Wesker says, "Not much food left. I suggest we hit another town. Looting their foods."

"Too dangerous. We almost died back there," complaints Jack.

Todd says, "Our radio is working now. I'm still trying to contact the government. Still hadn't succeeded."

Jacky Chan says, "We could kill the rats. Make them food."

Other men look at him with disgusted looks.

"What? We Chinese eat anything available. From termites, cockroach, worms," says Chan.

"Stop, Jacky. I felt sick. I don't want to vomit here," complaints Stanley.

Chan finally adopts a western name "Jacky" because everyone kept calling him in that name. It's easier that way, because apparently there are three Chans in their group.

Wesker says, "We got two zombie trucks working. I say we head to two different towns, looting foods. If one team didn't succeed, others will."

Stanley says, "I'm in. I'm sick of getting hungry and no food on my table."

Jack says reluctantly, "As always, I will guard your back, Stan."

It has been decided. Jack Daniels, Wesker, Stanley, Toshi and Chan will go in the first truck. They will go to the west, looking for food.

Chief Harris, Derek, O'Neal, and three other Chinese guys will head to the east for looting foods.

Erin grabs Jack's arm. And she whispers, "Come back safely."

"Sure."

And they kiss for a while before they finally parted again.

Jack waves before entering the truck.

Wesker says, "Guard your back, lover boy. If you didn't make it, I will take her."

A cold stare is Jack's sole reply. Wesker grins. The guy got no sense of humor.

"What are you looking?" asks Todd.

Ling shows her phone. Without a signal, hand phones are useless nowadays. People usually only use them as reminder of old glorious days. Watching photos or listening to music.

Ling explains, "Via Bluetooth, Chan gave me some photos of Chinese town in San Francisco. And photos from Hongkong where he has lived before he came here. I'm just staring them. I'm quite sure I've been there before."

Todd asks nervously, "You aren't falling in love with him, are you? You barely know him."

"Silly. I got no past memories. I can't fall in love with anyone. I might have a husband out there."

"Guess not..."

Todd got a bit disappointed. He really likes Ling. Erin has become Jack's girlfriend. Todd always knows she loves him. And he is hoping Ling might be his girlfriend.

Tough luck.

Nobody wants a skinny bookworm like him.

Ling is still staring the old photos. It felt nostalgic.
