Marcel saw the smoke rising from the graveyard and sped toward the scene. He arrived in time to see Vincent in the midst of battle with a dozen witches, bloodied but in full form as one would expect from the powerful Regent of New Orleans. The Pentadeae Coven had been bold to attack Vincent on the home turf of the Ancestors and Vincent had the full backing of the Ancestors in this fight. Witches were already responding to Vincent's aid and Marcel dispatched several Coven members before he was magically tossed through a crypt wall by one of them. But the Ancestors were angry that the Coven had dared to practice their form of magic in New Orleans and against their chosen Regent and responded in kind. The Ancestors delayed the Coven members long enough for Vincent and Marcel to destroy the attacking witches. As the last one fell, Marcel and Vincent looked at each other, with Vincent nodding to Marcel to thank him for the warning that allowed him to prepare for the fight they had just won. Vincent was now able to detect the Coven's brand of magic and a protection spell was erected around New Orleans to prevent any more Coven members from entering the City of New Orleans.

The three teenaged witches reacted instinctively to the danger and erected a protective bubble around themselves that prevented them from being harmed by the flying glass. The trio joined hands and stood to face the enemy that was barreling down upon them. Moments later Pentadeae Coven witches poured into the house through the sunroom, but the trio chanted and propelled them back into the yard. The next explosion rocked the entrance to the home as a gaping hole now appeared where the front door previously stood. Coven witches streamed in through the opening only to be met by Niklaus, Hayley and Rebekah while Bonnie and Caroline went to protect the girls not realizing that the powerful trio needed no protection. Bonnie joined with the three and the combined strength of the four witches together could not be matched by the Coven. The four had taken down the attackers from the sun room and now moved to the front of the house. Niklaus, Hayley and Rebekah were powerful but they lacked witchcraft and this had them at a disadvantage. As Niklaus was thrown across the floor he saw Bonnie and the teenaged witches coming toward them. He bellowed for Caroline and Bonnie to get the girls away from the fight as his eyes turned to yellow. The Coven were about to experience the horror that two hybrids can inflict upon those who dared to put their child in danger.

Albee stood up quickly at the sound of the explosion. His job was to protect Henrik Finn and he stood fast. Rafe appeared at the door suddenly and told his brother what was happening and to keep the boy safe. Rafe disappeared to rejoin the fight on the ground floor. But Henrik Finn had other ideas and ran out of the room while Albee had his back turned to look out the bedroom window to assess the extent of the attack and possible avenues of escape. He turned back to find Henrik Finn gone. "Dammit, kid," he muttered as he exited the room in pursuit of the child. Henrik Finn reached the bottom floor in time to see two dozen or so Coven members engaged in a witchcraft versus vampire/werewolf fight. Several Coven members were dead on the floor but the remainder fought with fury and determination. Furniture was flying back and forth as the Coven witches attempted to stake the vampires.

Albee caught up to Henrik Finn at the bottom of the stairs. He reached out to grab Henrik Finn by the arm to take him away from the danger when he saw the object catapulting toward the boy. Albee threw his body in front of Henrik Finn's body as the wooden chair leg stabbed into Albee's back, piercing his heart as it protruded out from his chest. Albee's face froze as his eyes met Henrik Finn's eyes, now wide with terror. As Albee began to desiccate in front of his young charge, his last vision was of Henrik Finn's small face screaming for Albee.

Henrik Finn screamed so loud that Rafe, Niklaus and Rebekah all turned toward his voice. Even the Pentadeae witches seemed to pause at the earth-shattering sound. Rafe saw his brother fall but knew he had to keep the witches away from Henrik Finn. Niklaus shouted to Rafe to protect the boy but before Rafe could move in response, Henrik Finn balled his fists at his sides and his eyes blazed green. He shouted, "No!" and his voice echoed and amplified strangely in the room. Henrik Finn then lifted his fists and waved them forcefully open in front of him, sending out a wave that felled every Coven member in the vicinity. Blood streamed from the eyes and noses of the dying Pentadeae members and the house grew immediately quiet. Rafe rushed to Henrik Finn then knelt down beside his dead brother.

Niklaus and Hayley stood amidst the rubble of dead witches. Hayley vanished quickly to find Hope. Rebekah held her hands over her mouth knowing Rafe's heartbreak at this devastating loss. Her eyes were drawn to Henrik Finn as the boy bent over and tugged at the stake but he was not strong enough to pull it out of Albee's back. Rafe stopped him, trying to hold back his grief, as it was an exercise in futility. His brother was gone. But Henrik Finn was undeterred, he held out his hand again and pulled the stake magically out of Albee's back, letting the wood drop to the marble floor. Rebekah began to approach but Niklaus grabbed her arm, stopping her, his eyes fixed on Henrik Finn. The two Originals watched as their nephew placed his hands against the dead vampire's entrance and exit wounds, then closed his eyes and chanted under his breath. Rafe reached out to grasp Henrik Finn's arm then pulled his hand back sharply from the sting of pain that came with the contact.

After several moments, Henrik Finn opened his eyes and stood up. Rafe looked at the boy and saw that his eyes were returning to normal. Henrik Finn seemed dazed and Rafe caught him as he collapsed into Rafe's arms. As Rafe held Henrik Finn, he looked at Albee whose skin was transitioning from death grey back to a healthy living hue. Albee opened his eyes and blinked a few times, coughing as he caught his breath, rubbing his chest from the pain. "What the hell," Albee moaned loudly, "damn that hurt!" Rafe laughed in surprise and jubilation that his brother was alive then looked with amazement between Henrik Finn and Rebekah then back to Albee.

Rebekah looked at Niklaus, and asked, "How did you know?" Niklaus told her he had seen the same look on Hope when she resurrected dead insects but he had no idea it could be done to a vampire. Niklaus held out his hand and helped Albee to his feet as Rafe rose, holding the unconscious Henrik Finn in his arms. "No time to chat," said Niklaus, "I must check the grounds for any more intruders. Say nothing about what the boy just did. It stays in the family." Niklaus was gone in a flash. He would speak to Hayley later about Henrik Finn. Rebekah took Henrik Finn from Rafe then Rafe threw his arms around his brother holding him in a tight embrace. Albee nearly lost his balance bewildered as to why he was deserving of such an overt display of emotion from his usually reserved brother. Rafe laughed as he tossled Albee's hair then the two followed Rebekah upstairs as she carried the unconscious Henrik Finn.
