Elijah brought Angelica her morning tea in the living room. She had been up all night working on her theories about the Prophet and the Coven. Elijah had not slept either instead preferring to let Charlie and Freya slumber while he kept watch. The danger was too great, and he was grappling with how to deal with an enemy like the Prophet. Elijah had his fills of seers and prophecy, one had nearly ended his family. Angelica sensed his mood and stepped away from her work to speak with her husband.

She reminded him about the vague nature of prophecies and that they are subject to various interpretations. She reminded him that prophecy is neither fate nor destiny, it is but one possible solution. Elijah paced as he resisted her efforts to assuage the guilt he still carried for failing to prevent the prophecy that nearly destroyed his family. But she reminded him that it was not Marcel Gerard who delivered the death blow to Elijah, it was The Hollow, a foe. It was not Marcel Gerard who delivered the death blow to Kol, it was Finn, a family member when he trapped Kol in that witch's body unable to escape death. And it was debatable about whether to apply Finn's death at the hands of Lucien Castle as death by a friend, as Lucien was no friend, especially to Finn. It would be more applicable to argue that young Henrik died a thousand years ago at the hands of a friend when the werewolf pack allied with his village killed him by accident. "It is very easy to show a prophecy fulfilled when the prophecy itself is vague on detail," she said.

She told him that he needed to stop looking at prophecy as being linear. A prophecy could have already been fulfilled, could have been partially fulfilled, may yet to be fulfilled, or will never be fulfilled at all.

Elijah was taken aback momentarily by the bluntness of Angelica's words but he realized she was right. He kissed her on the forehead and smiled at her, then directed her attention to her wall and asked, "So what have you deduced about the Prophet?"

She smirked slightly at his change of topic then turned toward the wall. "Alright," she said, "hear me out. The Prophet came for Freya twice now." Elijah interrupted, "Twice?" and she nodded. "Let's assume for a moment that the Prophet does have the gift of sight or vision. We know that the Coven was seeking revenge against the four witches who defeated Amara. Davina was easy. She walked right into their trap. But Freya was their next target and they nearly had her at the safe house but thanks to you they failed."

Elijah looked at her, bewildered. "Yes, you changed the outcome when you changed the teams at the last minute." Elijah's mouth dropped slightly as he digested what she was explaining to him. "Let's assume that the Prophet saw that Freya would be at the safe house with Charlie. He sends his five flunkies to either kidnap her or kill her. They might have been successful had Freya actually been at the safe house. But you changed the teams at the last minute. The Prophet could not see the change in outcome.

Then let's assume that the Prophet saw that Freya would be at the abandoned clock tower and that you would be with her. But I joined you at the last minute. He couldn't see that I was there. Freya's phone was destroyed. If I had not been taken, you would not have been able to find me at the hospital. I would not have been at the hospital to free myself from the chamber. We turned the tables on the Coven. Do you see where I am going with this?"

Elijah nodded, as he thought back to the warnings he relayed to Bonnie and Vincent thanks to Angelica's intuition. Marcel came to Vincent's aid. Henrik Finn intervened in the attack in Mystic Falls. "Spontaneous acts," he commented. She smiled, "Yes, the Prophet's visions are limited. He sees one version but it is not the only possible outcome." Elijah grinned, "More importantly, Angelica, he cannot see you, at all. He does not know what you are. Freya was right. You are a secret weapon against this Coven."
