Signature Sentence: "You... you do this for fun?"

"Fortunately, he's not punishing us." Brunette Senpai, Daichi, I'd learned was his name, said. "And no apologies necessary."

"Thanks to Koisumi here." I nodded with a smile. My other senpais, Sugawara, the silver head and Tanaka, the Baldie, sighed in relief and so did I. "Provided you all agree that you saw nothing."

We tensed up.

It was good teasing material however, we couldn't use it now.

"But, you guys—" He was interrupted by Bakageyama. Ah, shoot. Bakageyama was a character in Bichibare, an Anime I was watching. I meant Kageyama. (Made Up)

"All because you couldn't hit a serve! You suck." I put my hand on Kageyama's shoulder.

"The captain's talking!" I whisper shouted.

He slapped my hand away and continued to talk to Hinata, making me narrow my eyes at him. "What's different from last year? Are you kidding me?"

"I'm not as dumb as I look. You suck!"

Baka. I thought as I saw Daichi tense up. "You talk too much." Hinata replied. I face-palmed. Loudly.

Tanaka moved my hand from my face and said, "They are so in trouble. Don't hurt yourself for them." I nodded. Daichi is probably not going to accept their forms.

"Hey!" Daichi said, catching their attention. "I want you to listen to me."

"I don't know what your motive was for attending Karasuno. But I'm sure you came here with victory in your mind."

"Hai!" Hinata exclaimed.

"Of course, Karasuno was one of the top teams in the prefecture atill a few years ago. It happened only once, but we even went to nationals. Now we rank at best in the prefecture's top 8. Neither weak nor strong. Other schools call us things like, "Fallen Rivals", and "Unflying Crows". I remember well when Karasuno competed in spring nationals. Students from my neighborhood, I'd pass by high school students who competed against the country's best teams, in a huge gymnasium in Tokyo. It gave me goosebumps." Daichi was sure inspiring. "We're going to go there again."

I had to resist the urge not to clap as if some celebrity gave out a great performance.

But the moment was ruined by mr. King.

"There are many schools dreaming of going to nationals."

Tanaka flinched. "You bastard--"

"Don't worry." Daichi interrupted. "I mean what I say." Who doesn't mean what they say in an inspiring voice?

Daichi had a serious and scary expression on his face that seemed to shut up and set straight Kageyama.

"For us to make that happen, our team must be unified. And we have the dean keeping an eye on us." Daichi moved forward and in an instant Sugawara and Tanaka moved to the side. Tanaka grabbed my shirt and tugged it for me to follow them.

"I'm not telling you guys to be budies." Daichi said, with a shadow cast on his face. "Even if you were enemies on opposite sides of the net in junior high, I need you to understand that right now, you're on the same side. Do you understand?"

The shadow on his face was cast away and revealed a Daichi with furrowed eyebrows and scrunched up nose, even scarier than that face he pulled off earlier.

It sent shivers down Hinata and Kageyama's spines and goosebumps onto their skin.

I could tell because this is an anime.
