Chapter 4 ~ A Challenge for the Senpais

Signature Sentence: "Why is Tanaka so obsessed with Kiyoko?"

After waiting for a while and changing, three other boys emerged. "Hello!" They greeted. "Hello senpais!" I greeted with a smile. Some blushed as I said that. "Which one is he?" The black haired one asked. "Koisumi Akiko." Daichi replied.

The black haired one bowed. "Ennoshita Chikara."

Another one, hair almost as short as Tanaka's, bowed. "Narita Kasuhito."

And the last one with spiky light brown hair, bowed. "Kinoshita Hisahi."

I bowed as well and greeted them, "Nice to meet you!"

"This one's nice, he's got manners." Kinoshita remarked in a bland tone. "What's his position?"

Daichi handed him a form, most likely mine. "You have no experience and have no preferred position!?" Kinoshita asked while shouting.

I nodded, no shame in my expression, a cheeky smile adorned my face.

Sugawara leaned into his ear and whispered something. Most likely saying what sports I played in middle school.

Kinoshita whispered back. Daichi cleared his throat. "He's pretty good for a newbie."

I nodded. "Daichi senpai, I have to go put my contact lenses on."

Daichi nodded. I took my bag and searched for my contact lenses. Finally found them, I took off my glasses, making me partially blind.

I put them on.

My surroundings turned back to normal.

I looked at Sugawara. His cheeks were a little pink. I tilted my head to the side and winked with my tongue sticking out of my smile. 

He looked away from me, blushing a deeper red.

"Okay! Time to practice!" Daichi clapped his hands together. "Line up in front of me." We followed his instructions. "Since Koisumi doesn't have a preferred position, he will practice as all of the positions to get a feel of which one is more comfortable for him."

"Hai!" We nodded. "Koisumi, winged spiker first. Sugawara, setter. Kinoshita, get the 'blocker'. Narita, serve. Ennoshita, Tanaka and I will receive.

"Hai!"

Narita went into the closet to get the basket of balls with Kinoshita to get the 'blocker', a wooden board that replace a real life blocking player.

I stood in the spiker position as the others took their spots. Narita served the ball and Daichi received it. "Right!" he shouted as Sugawara tossed to me.

I jumped up and spiked at full power at the blocker.

The ball bounced back at Ennoshita, who received. "Good!" Daichi exclaimed. "Koisumi receive. I'll spike."

I switched positions with Daichi.

Narita served again and Ennoshita received. Sugawara tossed to Daichi. "Right!" He shouted. He spiked the ball onto the blocker. Ennoshita failed to receive but I managed to dive and receive. The only one who didn't try to receive was Tanaka.

"Tanaka, block and follow properly!" Daichi said. "Osu!" Tanaka replied.

I felt the feeling of being watched. I looked out the window to see Hinata. I waved at him. He waved as well.

"Koisumi!" I was snapped back to practice. "Pay attention!"

"Hai!"

"Switch with Sugawara." I nodded and went to setter position. None of the sports that I took the past three years could have helped me with tossing.
