Chapter 10 ~ Kageyama's Hell

Signature Sentence: "There's nothing scarier than hitting a serve to the back of my head."

"Nice to meet you!" We greeted at the entrance. I had to get off of Yamaguchi to bow. Right now, Aoba Johsai was practicing. They wore light blue shirts and white shorts in contrast to our white shirts and black shorts.

Daichi senpai began to talk about each of Aoba Johsai's players being high skilled equally in defense and offence.

Karasuno, however, was full offence less defense.

"These guys could go to any school and become the ace."

"Their powerful blocks are dangerous."

I looked to my right at a visibly shaking Hinata, clutching his chest. He was frightened, anyone could tell.

"What's the matter with you two? Hinata's here to throw them for a loop, right?" Tanaka asked Sugawara and Daichi.

I saw Hinata flinch and freeze. "We know you're lousy, so we'll cover you. Leave it to us."

That managed to catch Hinata's attention. He looked over at Tanaka with a surprised look. "But when you hit a serve, you're on your own. You'd better not miss."

Tanaka laughed with his eyes closed. "Just kidding, just kidding. A missed serve is no big deal."

With his eyes closed, he couldn't see the mess he made of Hinata. Hinata fled, really fast. Probably to the bathroom.

"Where did Hinata go?" Tanaka asked, once his eyes were open again.

"He went to the toilet." Yamaguchi said, pointing to the direction Hinata went to.

"Again?"

I directed my attention to the players playing. Just in time to see one of their players receive a ball, perfectly.

"Wow, Nishi! You might even be better than Koisumi!"

I think I had visibly flinched. My palms sweat. My heart beats harder.

And, I was nervous. "Koisumi."

I flinched as my name was called. I turned to my right, Daichi had put my hand on my shoulder and had a worried expression on his face. "You alright?"

I wanted to say no.

No, no, no. But, I had to say yes. I don't want him to worry further. "Yeah, I'm alright. Just a little bit nervous."

"Don't worry, Koisumi. It's just a practice match."

I nodded as he patted my shoulder. He handed me (one of those things that they wear with a number on it that's like a tank top? IDK) with a big L on it.

I put on (the thing) and changed into my black shorts. By the time Hinata arrived, everyone was already changed.

I saw him freak out with an answer at something Daichi senpai said.

"Oi, Hinata!"

Hinata looked in my direction, shaking.

"Don't worry about anything!" I shouted. "Hai!" He replied, still shaking. "I will try my best not to worry!"

I facepalmed, hard, with a sound. Yamaguchi walked over to me and removed my hand from my face. "You alright?" I took a deep breath and pointed towards Hinata.

"No."

"We will now begin the the practice match of Karasuno High School versus Aoba Johsai High School." One of the Coaches announced.
