~Chapter 28~

Third person's point of view.

Mito was still asleep and it was starting to really worry everyone. She may not have her brother's healing but it usually doesn't take her almost a month an a half to heal. Sasuke and Naruto had already had their much-awaited fight but it was interrupted by Sakura and Kakashi-sensei, Sasuke had thought he was stronger when he looked at the damage he caused,

But when he got a better look as he left, it was Naruto that made the bigger impact, angry and jealous, Sasuke returned to his room and sat next to Mito, he needed to hear her voice to see her eyes and hear her tell him it would be absolutely nothing to become stronger than Naruto, that all he needed was some practice and confidence that he would do it faster and master it sooner.

But she didn't, she couldn't and it was frustrating for him, the one person who actually understands him is still healing, not to mention stronger than him and Naruto, not to mention already a rank higher too. Sasuke needed to get stronger to kill Itachi and get back at him for what he did to his family and her.

- Time Skip/In the dead of night -

Sasuke knew what he had to do, after accepting the Sound 4's offer to join Orochimaru and become stronger he went home packed a bag and then went back to the hospital to see Mito one last time. He needed to see her one last time before leaving and not seeing her for a long time.

Leaning over her, she looked peaceful to him, her eyes closed and her lashes ghosting over her cheeks and her lips parted a bit as she breathed through her mouth, her hair was brushed and braided to lay over her shoulder, just the way he left it when he visited early that morning. Stroking her fringe out of her face, he let his thumb rest on her cheekbone, while his hand cupped her cheek.

"I'm sorry, I won't be here when you wake up, if you wake up that is." he started, "But, just know I'm doing this for us, I can't stay here and keep my current power, I need to get stronger, strong enough to protect you and kill him, when he's dead I'll come back and will gladly take whatever punishment you deem necessary." pressing his lips to hers he left before he changed his mind.

It was early in the morning, maybe 10 in the morning, Kakashi had been released from the hospital weeks ago and he was visiting Mito as usual, he was reading his book, when she suddenly sat up gasping and clutching her chest, her eyes were wide and her breathing was quick, "Mito!?" Kakashi called as he jumped to her side to get her to calm down.

"Sasuke..." she gasped, and Kakashi held her shoulder as she was trying to get out of bed, "He's fine, but you need to rest, stop trying to get up." he snapped to her when she tried to get up, "No...he's gone." she panted, "What?" Kakashi questioned, just then Shizune, Tsunade's apprentice came in confirming what Mito had just told Kakashi.

"Where is he going?" Kakashi asked either female, but Shizune didn't know, she only knew that he was gone from what Sakura had told them, "Orochimaru, he went to the Snake Sannin for power because of what Itachi did." she said before her body started to shake because she was fighting tears.

Falling to her knees, Kakashi caught her and she clung to his vest as she sobbed softly, it was barely audible but because she was right by his ear he could hear it. Shizune grabbed a nearby blanket and draped it over Mito as she sobbed, she mouthed to Kakashi that she'd get Tsunade and he nodded.

Mito lay resting as Kakashi, Naruto and Sakura stood next to her bed, under her eyes were red and puffy, and she looked even more exhausted than before she woke up from her coma. "Sasuke's going to be in so much trouble when I get my hands on him." Naruto hissed darkly, Sakura was starting to get annoyed with the attention Mito was getting because she's hurt.
