~Chapter 34~

Third person's point of view.

Mito got back and was greeted by Itachi and Kisame. The former wanted to work with her right away so she could master the Sharingan and Mangekyo Sharingan she now possessed. Pein was pleased that Mito was now stronger, it opened up possibilities in the future. Like right now, he wanted her to get rid of Orochimaru, he was going to be a problem and they couldn't have that. 

He had to wait awhile though, because Itachi was teaching her the best way to master her Sharingan so that she had no problems. So after a few long and tiring weeks, she was finally ready. She was on par with Itachi if not better and getting better with each lesson. Itachi too was pleased with her progress, 

And he was glad that her new boost of power and returned sight made Tobi backtrack in his plans. "Mito, Lord Pein wishes to see you." Konan called from the mouth of the training field. Standing up from sitting for a moment, she nodded and Mito moved to follow the blue-haired woman. 

"Mito," Itachi called, looking at him he smiled slightly, "Be careful, okay?" she smiled and nodded before leaving the training area. Itachi's small smile fell completely from his face when he knew he was days away from dying. His battle with Sasuke was set after he killed Orochimaru and freed himself from the Snake-Sannin's clutches,

And came looking for him.

When Mito got to Pein's office, he didn't waste time on pleasantries. "This is a priority, I need you to stop Orochimaru from taking Sasuke's body and obtaining the Sharingan at all costs, even if it means killing Sasuke." swallowing hard she steeled herself and nodded. Leaving the office she went to her room and packed quickly before Itachi could catch up to her and left.

She got to Otogakure very quickly, she didn't waste time and rushed into the base, but after the first few empty and unmanned corridors, she found Orochimaru's room. The door was open and Sasuke stood partly in the door and in the room. Cloak open and billowing around her legs and hair loose and freely waving to her calves she approached the younger Uchiha.  

Opening her mouth to say something she couldn't because he sensed her first. His curse seal open to the first stage and his arm raised with his Chidori on the other hand, which pinned Orochimaru's hand to the headboard of his bed, "Sasuke," she greeted and he smiled at her, "Mito, what are you-" he started but stopped when he saw her eye.

"How did you get the Sharingan?" he asked as his free hand grabbed her wrist, she didn't answer and looking into the room, her red eye glowing a bit as she scanned the dying snake in his bed. "Oh, you become more powerful with each encounter don't you, Mito-chan?" Orochimaru said, and she leaned back out of the room.

"What are you doing here?" Sasuke asked, "I came here to kill a snake and stop it from shedding old skin for a new one. But it seems you've got that covered." pulling her hand free she turned on her heels and moved to leave. Sasuke called after her but because he had to kill Orochimaru he let her go and finished what he started quickly.

Mito wasn't in a rush and walked at a calm pace. But this pace let Sasuke and a new teammate of his catch up to her, "Mito! Wait!" he shouted and caught her arm to stop her while he and Suigetsu caught their breath. Suigetsu bitched almost as much as Hidan but having spent so much time with the latter Mito built up a tolerance for his brand of stupid.

"What do you want?" she said blandly, Sasuke could barely see any of the girl he had grown up with or dated in the woman in front of him. "Whoa man, are you saying this is the Mito? As in the kunoichi that was labeled with a flee on sight warning, the same woman that was monikered Konoha's Yellow Flash? That Mito?" Mito rolled her eyes and Sasuke nodded.

"Yeah, the same." Suigetsu's jaw dropped and he instantly was beside her with his arm around her shoulders as he attempted to hit on her. As Sasuke glared at Suigetsu, Mito was getting annoyed with both of them, grabbing Suigetsu's arm she twisted his wrist and then his arm which rolled his body and flipped him to the ground. 

Groaning and looking up at her with a glare it vanished when he saw the look in her eyes and he shrunk even more into the ground. "Are you going to answer any of my questions?" he asked standing in her way of leaving. "Why should I? You didn't trust me enough to stay in the village, you didn't ask me to help you get stronger you just left and asked a psychopath." She snapped.

Sasuke flinched. "I wasn't going to get anywhere staying there, I needed to leave. You of all people should have understood that." he countered but she wasn't having it, "Well, don't assume that's what I am, I'm not as understanding as you think." shoving around him she started moving again, but he was following after her, he wasn't done yet.

"Stop walking away from me!" he shouted and she spun on him. "YOU WALKED AWAY FROM ME!" she roared and he froze, "You walked away from me first, stop thinking that just because you're not with Orochimaru that I'll take you back, or that I don't know what you still plan to do." finally ripping away from him, she turned and started walking again.

Pulling at her again he yanked her against his chest and she opened her mouth to yell at him some more but his lips pressed firmly against hers stopped her from yelling. She pushed against him but couldn't get him off, his mouth on hers was familiar and soft, even with the level of aggression he used to start the kiss he was being extremely gentle.

Suigetsu stared at the pair, his eyes wide and his jaw hanging. He knew they dated but still couldn't believe it. He wished he had a camera to take a picture and show Karin, she'd lose her mind over this and he wanted to see that. Karin was Sasuke-crazy and it was fun to tease and joke with her about it and how everytime she made an advance on him she would be rejected.

Sasuke was still lip-locked with Mito, his hands and arms kept her body tight against his, he missed this. The feeling of her against him, her soft lips on his, the smell of her skin, the feel of her breath on his face. She all while didn't know what to do, stop him, punch him, or just give in. All three options had their own consequences.

None of which she wanted to explore. So she had to let him finish, and soon after he finally pulled away, his teeth slightly tugging on her bottom lip, something he knows she likes and let go, his lips glossy with a slight layer of saliva, hers a little red but just as glossy, his eyes were still closed and his forehead was pressed to hers and he caught his breath again.

"Are you done?" she said her voice filled with restrained anger and annoyance, his eyes popped open and he frowned at her, "But...-" "But nothing. Let go before I break your arm." needing his arms he did as she asked and he soon regretted it because she vanished in a blur of yellow, black, and red. 

Sighing Sasuke cursed himself before getting a move on to get the rest of his team ready. Suigetsu following along still shell shocked by what had happened.
