After a long winter break, we eventually had to go back to school. I was not happy about this.

I rolled out of bed at 5 am even though I didn't need to be in school for hours. I left Damien lying there as I changed into my training gear. My neck felt stiff, so I tried to relax my muscles.

Once I was outside, my whole body shivered. Snow still covered the ground, crunching beneath my feet. I was wearing an extra jacket and sweats so I didn't freeze, but it didn't keep the cold out. I started running, trying to warm up a bit.

I only ran for an hour, and then went back inside to thaw before school. At least I was awake now.

Taking a quick shower, I was still up and dressed before Damien. I had thrown on a pair of jeans, a long sleeved black top and my black knee high boots. I grabbed my messenger bag, chucking my stuff into it. Then I grabbed my thick dark green coat and headed back downstairs.

Usually I would have woken Damien, but the night before he had made a big deal, sayig he didn't need someone to wake him. He was eighteen, he could do it himself. I smirked, knowing he had maybe ten minutes before he had to leave. Idiot.

I skipped out the door, and got in my car. I saw everyone else doing the same and I knew Damien was not going to be happy. I shrugged, turning on my radio and pulled out of the driveway. I was in a surprisingly good mood now. I sang as I drove, drumming my hands on the steering wheel.

As I pulled into the school, I felt my phone vibrating in my pocket. I pulled it out and saw Damien's number.

"Good morning." I answered in a sing-song voice, knowing it would annoy him.

"Thanks for waking me babe." I could tell he was annoyed. He only used sarcasm when he was really irritated.

"I thought you could wake yourself? What was it you said? 'I'm an adult. I don't need you waking me, acting like my mom'."

I heard him grumbling over the phone. Keeping it pressed to my ear, I climbed out of the car and walked over to Greg and Ben. We had gotten close over the last few weeks, and they weren't as bad as they seemed. Most of the time.

I jumped up on the hood of Ben's car and sat beside him and Greg.

"Ok, so maybe I was wrong."

I scoffed. "Maybe?"

"Ok, I was wrong. And now I'm going to be late to school. Just say I told you so and be done with it."

I smirked. "I told you so." I didn't let him continue. I hung up, enjoying having the last word.

Greg smirked at me. "What was that about?"

I rolled my eyes. "Mr. Alpha is late and is blaming me."

He nodded and then turned to look as a girl walked past, staring at her ass.

I rolled my eyes again. "Could you be anymore obvious?"

"Yes. I could be walking behind her, cat-calling and trying to grab her ass."

Deciding I couldn't deal with that boy, I went inside. I really needed some more girl friends. All the guys I hung out with were players and it was getting weird.

I whistled happily as I walked to lunch that afternoon. My day just kept getting better. My English teacher was sick, so we had a sub and then we watched a movie in History. I was in a good mood. And on a Monday no less.

I just turned the corner when I saw a flash of black and two jocks. This wasn't good.

"What the hell emo? Get out of our way!"
