Emmy's P.O.V.

The first thing I thought when I woke up was that I felt like I was floating. Literally floating around. I tried to open my sleepy eyes, but my eyelids were so  heavy.

I eventually got them open, squinting as I tried to adjust them to the bright light.

Glancing around, I realised I was in my bedroom. I giggled a little, never having been so happy just to be home. My body felt kind of numb, like I was too tired to move my limbs.

Then I noticed a body lying next to me. Straining my neck to turn my head, I looked down at Damien as he slept peacefully.

After a lot of effort, I managed to lift my hand and I moved it over to touch him. I ran my fingers slowly through his hair. He looked tired and thin. But I'm sure I didn't look much better.

I then tried to sit up, but there was pain, piercing into my stomach. I gasped and cringed. But this caused Damien to wake with a start.

His head whipped around, looking for danger. His eyes finally fell on me. He smiled at me, lying his head back down on his pillow. I smirked as he shot back up and stared at me, his eyes wide.

"You're awake."

My smiled grew bigger. "No shit Sherlock. You should be a detective."

He rolled his eyes at me and I realised how much I missed that. "But, you're okay?"

I nodded slowly, feeling a little unsure. "I think so. I just feel a bit loopy."

He smiled at me. "That might be the medication. Michelle said they had to dope you up with a lot. You were in a lot of pain."

I closed my eyes and sighed happily. "Well I feel great now."

He chuckled. "That's good."

I opened my eyes and then I frowned. It was weird, returning to normal after the last few days.

In an instant, it all hit me again. God did I feel crazy. I started crying, breathing heavily. Damien wrapped his arms around me and pulled me against his chest.

"It's okay babe. It's all over now. You're safe."

I sobbed as he rubbed my back soothingly. I had missed him so much, and despite the pain in my stomach, I didn't want him to ever let me go.

I tried to regain some control as I wiped the tears away with the back of my hand. "It's just, I never thought I was going to be saved. I thought I was going to die in there."

He shushed me, kissing my forehead. "But you didn't. We got to you and now you're home. And I'm never letting you go again."

I sighed, the tears were drying up now. We lay in silence, just relishing the moment. But I had too many questions.

"How many days has it been?"

He shifted so he could look at me. "You've been out for a few days. You would have woken up sooner, but the doctors said you needed to recover after everything you went through with the rogues." He looked angry, not meeting my eyes now.

I kissed his cheek. "It's alright Damien. I'm fine now."

He nodded. "You look better after a good rest. And a change of clothes."

I laughed. "I was just about to say the same to you. You been letting yourself go?"

"I couldn't sleep without you there."

I didn't know what to say, so I just lay there. I knew I should get up and go see my family, but I wanted to stay with Damien. I had been hoping for days that he would come and save me. Now, I wasn't taking any moment with him for granted.
