When Sunday morning rolled by, I didn't feel like getting out of bed. I had slept until 7 am, and it felt amazing. James came in and slept beside me, but left at around 5. He still had been avoiding me. So I decided that today I was going to deal with everything.

Instead of lying in bed, I jumped up and walked back to my room. I saw the pieces of my door hadn't been moved and I sighed. Grabbing a pair of jean shorts, a tank top and an oversized checker shirt, I moved to my bathroom. I brushed through my long hair and threw it up into a mess bun.

Then I headed downstairs.

I followed the scent into the gaming room, and that's where I found James. I crossed my arms over my chest and leaned against the door frame.

"Can I talk to you?"

He shifted on his feet. "I don't know. I'm kinda busy right now Emmy." He wasn't even looking at me.

Without answering, I walked forward and grabbed a clump of his hair. He yelped, but that just made me hold on tighter. I then pulled him out of the room. All the other guys just stood in shock.

Once I had dragged him outside, I threw him on the ground.

"Jesus Emmy, did you have to do that?"

I rolled my eyes and ignored his stupid question. "Why have you been avoiding me?"

"I haven't."

"Wrong answer. Don't lie to me."

 "Emmy-"

"Just answer me."

He sighed. "Can't we just talk later?"

"James! Answer me."

"Fine! I'm avoiding you because I let you down. I am your trainer, I have been helping you for years, making you better. I am supposed to protect you. And you got hurt. You could have died saving me. I can't take the thought that you could get hurt again, because of me. Because next time you could die Emmy. And I'm not going to let that happen."

I stared at him, as he stood in front of me, panting. I shook my head. "You're an idiot. Do you think I'm so completely incompatient that I can't take care of myself? There was nothing you could have done. Now, I saved your life. Say thank you and move on!"

He winced and lowered his head. "Thank you."

I nodded and headed towards the kitchen. It was empty, so I hopped up on the counter and pulled out my phone. I scrolled through reciepes, trying to find something to make. I eventually found an Oreo Nutella cheesecake. That sounded like heaven.

I smiled, grabbing my keys and heading out to my car. I drove the short distance to the supermarket, all the time ignoring the mind-link.

Wondering around, I picked up all the ingredients I needed. I was humming, feeling very relaxed. I quickly paid and returned to the pack house.

Damien seemed to have been waiting for me, but I bypassed him and headed for the kitchen. I continued to ignore him as he yelled over my iPod, until he eventually gave up.

Once the cheesecake was ready, I sliced it up and took plates to some of the pack elders. I took some to the Alpha and my dad to, who were busy trying to sort out the rogue problem. I wasn't allowed to stay, but the Alpha told me he would talk to me later. That made me nervous.

I then took my own slice into the lving room. Sitting down on the sofa, I grabbed the remote and watched TV. But I hadn't been down there for more than an hour, when something weird happened. I felt the temperature in the room rise, making me sweat. Oh god.
