Raven's P.O.V.
I knew it had been a bad idea to sit with Emmy and her friends. But I didn't know it was this bad an idea.
I ran through the doors of the cafeteria and made my way to the library where I usually hung out. Tears were streaming down my face, and I tried to wipe them back. God this was stupid.
I was thankful to Emmy. Those assholes and a lot of other guys had been tormenting me and bullying me for months. I wasn't strong enough to really stand up for myself. I hated the names; emo, freak, loser.
But to think of my mate calling me those names? That was too much pain. He would never accept me. My wolf couldn't stand the thought off rejection.
As I made my way into the empty library, I slowed down. I was the only person who ever came in here. I moved to one of the sofas at the back, dumping my bag and collapsing. I must have sat for a good five minutes crying when the door opened.
I looked up to see my mate. His blonde hair and ice blue eyes were so striking. He was staring at me, out of breath from running. More tears formed in my eyes.
"Stop looking at me." I was just about able to croak out, my voice breaking.
He walked towards me, slowly, afraid that I might try and run again. "It's okay. I just want to talk."
My shoulders shook as I tried to keep it togehter.
Finally, he was sitting down beside me, his hand reaching for mine. The sparks radiated through my body and I gasped a little.
"It's okay. Just tell me what's wrong."
I shook my head. "What's wrong? What's wrong? You're going to reject me, that's what's wrong."
His eyes widened. "Why would I do that?"
I scoffed. "Look at me. I know I'm a freak and an ugly emo. You know what? Just get it over with."
I prepared myself, waiting for the words that would break my heart. But instead, I felt his fingers lifting me chin, making me look into his eyes. Then, without warning, he kissed me. The feeling was intense and passionate. I couldn't control my body as I wrapped my arms around his neck, pulling him closer.
After a few minutes he pulled away, letting me breathe.
"Babe, I would never reject you. You're my mate. My beautiful mate. And you're not a freak, or pathetic or an emo. You're perfect."
I didn't know what to say. Was he really accepting me? Was this a trick?
"I'm serious. I may not be the best person, but I know that I was meant to be with you. That's all that matters."
I smiled, trying to get the tears to stop falling. "I just... I've just been told for so long how ugly and worthless I am. I never thought that I could actually get a mate that would stay with me."
He smiled and moved his hand to cup my cheek. "Well, I'm staying. You're never getting rid of me now."
I laughed and he pulled me in for a hug. Then he stood up, holding out his hand for me. "Come on, Emmy freaked out when you ran off. She accused me of hitting on you and creeping you out. She's pretty pissed. And she is not the sort of girl you want mad."
I nodded, taking his hand. He interlocked his fingers with mine, and we walked down the corridor. It was perfect until I saw one of the guys from earlier.
"Hey Greg. What's up man?"
I hid behind his back slightly, trying to hide my face.
"Nothing much man. What happened to your face?"
Then he saw me. "What the hell are you doing with this freak?"
I felt my heart sink, thinking that maybe Greg would deny me being his mate in front of his friends. But he suddenly wasn't beside me anymore. He had grabbed the guy by the front of his shirt and slammed him against the lockers."
"What did you just call her?" He was growling, and I know I shouldn't have, but I found it hot.
"What the hell man? Its just the emo bitch."
Greg growled louder. "That's my mate. And if I ever hear you talking shit about her, I will not hesitate to put you in the ground. Understand?"
The guy nodded. "Whatever man."
Greg then let go of the guy's shirt, and grabbed my hand again. Throwing one last glare over his shoulder, we walked into the cafeteria. He sighed, running his free hand over his face.
"Sorry about that. My wolf lost it."
I smiled. "It's okay. You just accepted and defended me to one of your friends. Thank you." I stood up on my tip toes and peeked with on the lips, not caring that people were turning to stare.
He smiled at me. "Any time love."
We wondered back over the table, all of them talking. Then Emmy looked up and glared at Greg.
"Oh for the love of god. I can't even have one girl friend Greg. Not one that you don't try to seduce?"
He chuckled. "You can have as many girl friends as you want now and I won't touch them."
She gave him a flat look and I giggled.
He ignored her though and turned to everyone else. "Guys, this is my mate Raven."
Everyone's eyes widened as they looked at me. I blushed as they cheered and got really excited. Things were working out better than I had expected.

Emmy's P.O.V.
After Greg's announcement at lunch, I was determined to drag Lisa and Raven away from their mates and have a girl's day.
"Come on, just one afternoon of shopping?"
Lisa rolled her eyes. "No Emmy. I have stuff to do."
Raven nodded. "Yeah, me too."
I pouted. "But Lisa, I feel like we haven't hung out in ages! And Raven, I want to get to know you better. Plus I need new clothes. Please?"
They both sighed. "Fine, but only for a couple of hours."
I clapped as they groaned. I usually wasn't a big shopper, but I was surrounded by too many boys. I needed to do something girly for the day.
So after school, we piled into my car and drove to the mall. I blasted music, singing along. It took five minutes for the other two to eventually get in the spirit and join in.
When we got to the mall, we wondered around and I could tell Lisa and Raven were actually enjoying themselves. I had missed hanging out with Lisa and Raven was actually really cool. We had similar tastes in music and books.
She told us about her parents, who were always worried about her. But now that she had found Greg, we was planning on moving into the pack house. We agreed with this and offered to help her move her stuff.
We must have gone into every shop. We even went into a baby store where Lisa bought a couple of things. But we left pretty quickly, because the human manager kept throwing us judging looks.
After spending a good couple of hours, I felt proud of the collection I had gotten. I had bought a few new t shirts, a new pair of grey skinny jeans and a black leather jacket. Lisa had tried to get me to buy a few dresses, but protested.
We then headed back to the pack house, singing along to the radio the whole time.
I was feeling pretty good at that moment. Everything seemed to be working out.
Life was as close to perfect as I had ever gotten.
