I Love Myself (Poem) Part 29

"I Love Myself"

I loved a man and he hurt me

He hurt me

I fell down

So down

So down

I thought to myself what did I do to deserve this

And I did not know

I could not think of one thing I did

For this person this man to hurt me

I was ashamed of myself

So ashamed I hid

I lied to myself

I covered myself

I did not want no one to see me

But then I cried

I cried for myself

I cried for my soul

I cried for my heart

I was so hurt

And then I knew

There was nothing I did or nothing I could do

For this man to love me

And then

I looked up

Brought myself up

Looked at myself and

Said, "Your beautiful, your lovely

Stand up

Show your smile

And Laugh

I laughed and laughed

I danced and danced and danced

I drank and drank and drank

And then I knew the one I loved was true

It was ME and no one can hurt me

Because I will not hurt myself.

I love myself.
