Scarlett's POV
I woke in surprise dark room. I jumped to my feet only to fall to the ground as pain shot up my leg. I looked around frantically searching the darkness. My eyes wouldn't adjust though.
Then a door opened blinding me with bright light. I blinked rapidly and stood. "Hey Scarlett. Miss me?" Cage asked walking into the room.
"Nope." I replied popping the p with more confidence then I really had. "Hell I didn't even think about you." I said lying.
"Yeah. I bet." Cage replied as the door closed making it pitch black again. I blinked rapidly trying to get my eyes to adjust. "I bet you thought about all those late nights with me." Cage said touching my face.
I took a few quick steps back. "S-stay away from m-me." I stuttered backing away and bumping into the wall.
"Oh I see that you have forgotten your training. What a shame. I guess that you will have to learn again." Cage said walking towards me.
"No. I'm not going to be your slave ever again. I've had freedom and I'm going to keep it." I said as my head began to throb. I heard his breathing coming closer and I took a deep breath.
"Scar you are never getting freedom again. So you might as well give in." Cage said and I could smell his breath fanning in my face.
"No. I'm not going to just go along with every damn thing you want me to. You are the only one left you know. Andrew was arrested and Steve well let's just say that he got what he deserved. It's just you and me now." I said sidestepping away from him.
"You know what that means? I'm going to end this. Either you will die or go to prison. Or I die because you kill me. We'll see how things go." I said listening to him breathe worriedly.
"Are you saying that my brother is dead?" Cage asked stepping toward me as I made my way along the wall. "Answer me!! Is my brother dead!!" Cage screamed suddenly causing me to jump.
"Yes. He is dead. But what do you care? Henry was your brother and you still killed him. Henry was actually a decent man. And you killed him." I said feeling along the wall for a doorknob.
I almost screamed when I found it. "Henry betrayed me. I trusted him and he betrayed me." Cage said then there was silence.
"What do you mean Henry betrayed you?" I asked grabbing hold of the knob. There was a ringing noise that sounded a lot like a door bell.
"I wonder who that is?" Cage said and I heard footsteps slowly coming toward me. I opened the door quickly and dashed into the bright light. "You stupid bitch!" Cage screamed as the door closed.
I ran down the hall stumbling over my own feet. The doorbell rang again. I ran toward the sound. I pulled open the door just as my eyes began to adjust. On the other side of the door stood a delivery man.
"Help me." I whispered running out the door as footsteps came down the hall. "Please. We have to go now." I said listening as a gun started going off.
The guy in front of me fell to the ground with a bullet in his head. I took off running. I ran and ran and ran. I could feel blood running down my side and the throbbing pain in my leg.
But I kept going. I saw a building that looked familiar and ran to it. As I got closer I could make out the words on the sign. Police Department.
I sighed in relief as I pushed through the door. People looked up as I slammed the door back into the wall. One guy jumped out of his seat and ran down the hall.
"Can someone tell me where Kate Brian is?" I ask loudly.
"Down the hall. Hers is the only office down there." One woman answered staring down at me.
"Thank you." I whispered before running down the hall. I pulled open the door and stared at Kate for a second as she looked away from the guy who had ran when I walked into the room.
"Help me Kat." I whispered as my eyes rolled back into my head and the darkness consumed me.
_______________________________________________(The Next Day)I pried open my eyes flinching away from the bright lights. I turned my head to see Kate sleeping in the chair next to me. The door opened and I turned to see Mom and Dad walk in.
"Scarlett!" Mom screamed running to my side waking Kate up.
"Mom I'm fine. Where's Rachel? Is she okay? She passed out in the car is she okay?" I asked worriedly. I looked around the room frantically staring at my family's worried faces. "He didn't take her did he? Please tell me I didn't leave her alone in one of those dark rooms." I begged as they continued to stare at me.
"Scar. Calm down. Rachel's fine. She's here in the hospital due to her own wounds. She has a very bad concussion and a broken arm. She's going to be fine." Kate spoke up noticing how stressed I was.
"Thank you. So what's wrong with me?" I asked looking at around at their worried looks.
"Scarlett. I think you should wait for your doctor to tell you that." Mom spoke up sadly. For the first time I realized that there was something off. I reached up and pulled the tubes out of my nose and the IV out of my arm.
Then I swung my legs over the side of the bed. I looked down at my right leg and gasped. There was no leg past my knee. "What happened?" I asked staring down at the bandaged stump.
"Scarlett. I'm so sorry." Mom said then burst into tears before running out the door with my Dad right behind her.
I looked up at Kate who was staring at the door. "Kate?" I asked calmly and she looked up at me with a pained look.
"You broke your leg in the car crash. Then when you ran on it, you messed up the ligaments and tore some muscles. There was no way to fix it. They said that even if the bone healed that you would always be in immense pain. They left the decision up to me. I'm sorry." Kate said as tears rolled down her cheeks.
"Kate. This isn't your fault. Thank you for making the decision. Mom and Dad wouldn't have been able to. You made the decision I would have. I didn't know that my leg was broke. All I knew was that it hurt like hell. I'm the one who messed every thing up." I said trying to comfort her.
"No Scarlett. It's not you fault. None of this should've happened." Kate said looking away from me.
"Kate. You are going to have to explain all this to me. Right now. I want the whole story." I said reaching down and grabbing her hand.
