you and ethan had been dating for a couple of months now. you were a bit hesitant at dating him at first because all of your relationships always ended in a heart break.

today was valentines day and ethan wasnt able to be here for it. he was in new jersey with his family but you didnt mind at all.

you woke up earlier than usual. you decided to go back to bed before you got interrupted by a knock on the door.

you sighed not wanting to get up.

the was another knock at the door and you groaned getting up and walking down stairs to see who it is.

you opened the door shocked revealing a vase with flowers, chocolates, a stuffed animal and a card.

you smiled instantly knowing it was from ethan.

you walked back up to your room placing everything but the vase on your bed. you carefully placed the vase on the nightstand and pull out the card that was carefully placed in between the flowers.

you read the note. you were confused. what was this supposed to mean? was ethan breaking up with you?

the note read:

"y/n i love you but by the time all the flowers die my love for you will be gone xo"

you shrugged it off and smiled looking at the huge stuffed animal and choclates you had placed on the bed.

you placed the giant stuffed animal on the carpet floor beside you as you got comfortable in bed.

you unwrapped the chocolates popping them each in your mouth.

you decided there wasnt anything to do today since the boys werent here so you decided to back to sleep.

when you woke up you looked to the right and saw that 1 rose out of 6 was already droopy and dead.

you frowned.

"already?" you whispered to yourself. you decided not to get sad off of it so you headed down stairs to make yourself some food.

you couldnt find anything so you decided to order a pizza... because why not.

you walked back up stairs and into your room just to chill while the pizza got here.

you looked at the flowers and your heart dropped.

two more were already limp and dark.

was this ethans way of breaking up with you?

your thoughts were interrupted by a knock at the door.

you wiped your tears heading downstairs with your money.

you opened the door grabbing the pizza box and handing him the money not even bothering to look the delivery person in the eyes.

you were halfway closing the door until you remembered.

"oh- heres your tip.." you whisper shoving your hand in your pockets and handing the delivery guy a $10 bill.

you sigh closing the door walking back up stairs... again.

you couldnt help but look at the flowers realizing there was only one left. you placed the pizza box on you vanity and crawled into your bed to cry, not even bothered to eat it anymore.

there was only one flower left. meaning once it has died his love for you would be gone.

you woke up the next day tired than ever from crying.

you decided not even to bother looking at the flower vase beside you.

you walked into you walk in bathroom, undressed and quickly walking into the shower.

once you got out you got dressed into some comfortable clothes. when you got out of the bathroom your eyes landed on the flower vase.

5 were dead, the last one was still alive.

you were confused. the rest had died so quickly! you furrowed your eyebrows walking closer to the vase on your nightstand.

you picked it up  and examined it. after a while you gasped. the flower was fake! not long after you set it down to take everything in your phone dinged.

it was a message from ethan.

"hello y/n, im sorry for not talking to you at all yesterday i was very busy with work. i hope my  gift didnt scare you too much. it was just my way of telling you that my love for you is infinite :) <3 please call me soon i love you"

you smiled chuckling at you self for being so dumb.

you called ethan and you both spent the rest of the morning talking to each other and telling each other cheesy jokes.
