I yawn escaped my lips, and i instantly cursed myself for it.

I heard a grunt and I tried to be as silent as possible, I stared at the door in complete longing, the sun was only just rising, which meant I had enough time to prepare breakfast.

I slowly put my hand on the handle and applied a little pressure, then I slowly added on to that pressure, the cold metal of the handle against my dry skin.

The door squeaked slightly as I opened it just wide enough to make my skinny body fit through, and I pushed myself through the gap I made.

I sighed in relief when I reached the other side, and looked down the hallway, I turned left and prayed that I'd find the kitchen.

My footsteps echoed way to loudly for my liking, and I slowly slowed my pace.

"Evelyn?"

I stared at Ani, who was frowning, I'd slept on the couch in Mars's room with my baggy sweatpants and tank top, but Ani was wearing a small nightgown that fit her body perfectly, she clutched something I couldn't recognize in her hand.

"Ani? What are you doing awake?" I ask, worriedly putting my hand on here forehead to make sure she wasn't sick.

"I'm ok" she muttered, prying my hand off before sending me a grateful smile.

She pauses, running her hand through her ash blonde hair, the one seemingly shared between everyone in my family.

She gave me a once over, but her frown only deepened.

"So what are you doing here?" She asks me

"Breakfast" I reply shortly

"Evelyn... I'm sorry, really, but you look.. sorry again... terrible." Ani said, cringing when she said the word 'terrible'

"I know" I reply

I sense someone move.

"Ani, where are you?" I hear Andi's voice whisper somewhere close.

"Andi, Evelyn's awake" Ani said, and I look at where she's looking to see Andi a little behind me.

"But-" He starts looking at me

"I know, maybe some other time" Ani Said, sighing.

"What are you two planning?" I Said curiously

"Nothing" Ani and Andi said in perfect unison

"Is it something good or bad?" I integrated

"I'm not a lair" Andi said, smiling

Ani winked at him, and I could see him struggling not to burst into laughter.

"I'm not a lair
Gave up on that attire" Ani sang, her eyebrows furrowing In thought

"You hurt me, was it worth it?
I should've known your weren't ready to commit" she let the words roll of her tongue and she shook her head

"It doesn't fit together" Andi commented

"I know" Ani said, shrugging

I took the chance to escape, and I took the hallway down the stairs.

...

I slipped the last plate onto the table, and smiled to myself.

I walked to the fridge, opening it swiftly, and peering inside.

"Juice" I whispered to myself, rummaging through some left over pizza, burned brownies, and a stack of store bought cookies.

I cursed myself when my elbow spilled the milk carton, and milk fell right on top of my sweatpants and dripped onto the floor.
