*Chris' POV*

It took Kolfinna and I about two days to drive up to my hometown of Scranton. She was nervous the entire time. I made sure to keep her hand in mine while I drove, and every now and again she'd squeeze my hand. Its weird how one mate can sense the feelings that radiate off the other mate. She slept for a lot of the trip up there, but even in her sleep she was a nervous wreck. She held onto my arm and nuzzled her face into my bicep, trying to gain some sense of security. Deep down, I knew my parents would love her, even if she was different from us. But that's what the coven and I accept the most. People who are different, yet comfortable, in their own bodies. When I pulled into the driveway of my mom's two story modern home, I could feel Kolfinna's claws digging into my flesh. I looked down to see her terrified eyes glued to the house, her body shoved back into her seat. I leaned over and kissed her lips. After pulling away I looked her in the eyes and held her cheek in my hand.

"Darling, I promise. They're going to love you. And if you get uncomfortable, I'll always be right next to you." I spoke. She nodded a little and i smiled, this time kissing her nose. "Now c'mon, my mom and sister have been dying to meet you." I winked at her, stepping from the truck as I heard her giggle at my shitty pun. When she stepped from the car, I couldn't help but to stare. She was so nervous this morning about making a good impression, she dressed up. She was wearing a white thin-strapped sundress with beige floral over-lacing, her emerald rosary, a light toned lipstick, and she had curled her hair and put on my favorite black beanie. Her showed were some plain white toms. She was just the definition of beauty. She finally caught me staring at her and she smiled a shy smile, slightly embarrassed.

"What?" She asked, twiddling her fingers and her eyes looking downcast.

"Do you realize how beautiful you are?" Her smile broaden and she moved some of her hair in her face. If she was mortal, she definitely would've been blushing right about now. I walked over to her and grabbed her hand, going to lead her up to the front door. But when she realized what I was doing, she didn't budge. She just stood there in pure fear. "Oh, we're not doing this right now baby." I said, lifting her up over my shoulder when she continued to refuse to move. She gasped and started punching my back.

"Christopher!" She screamed, beating on my back, with no luck of me letting her go. I got to the front door and rung the doorbell, hearing my mom squeal "they're here" and my sister yelling that she'd get the door. "Chris, come on! This is not the first impression I want to give to your family!" Kolfinna yelled, trying to kick my shin. Before she could do anything, the front door opened revealing my baby sister.

"Dildo breath!" She yelled at me.

"Whore mouth!" I yelled back, giving my sister a hug with Kolfinna still thrown over my shoulder. My sister looked at my mate that was still struggling to get down.

"Chris, how many times must we tell you, if they say no, that truly means no." I stuck my tongue out at her and spanked Kolfinna when she hit my butt with her fist. It was a loud smack noise, and then Kolfinna groaned. I passed my sister and walked into the kitchen where my mom was.

"Special delivery for momma Cerulli!" I yelled, flipping Kolfinna around so she was laying bridal style in my arms. She gave me her special look and growled before my mom turned with a big smile.

"There's my handsome little boy and his lovely bride!" She squealed, coming up to us and giving us both a hug. When she pulled away my mom gave me a look. "Now Christopher, I realize you're in love with your bride but it looks like she's about to rip out your throat if you don't set her down. And I won't object if she does." My mom tsked at me. I grumbled and set Kolfinna down. She adjusted her dress before addressing my mom.

"It's lovely to meet you. My name is Kolfinna." She spoke to my mom, thrusting out her hand to shake my mother's. I cracked a smile when my mom looked from me to her.

"Well. You certainly have better manners than my son. I hope Lucien knew what the hell he was doing, because you my dear are perfect for a daughter in law." My mom smiled, shaking Kolfinna's hand, before pulling her into the 'mama bear hug'. "And we're family sweetie, you call me whatever your little heart desires." Kolfinna was thrown off by my mom's sudden hug, but nonetheless she hugged back.

"Thank you so much Ms. Cerulli." She smiled and my mom went back to cooking.

"So Christopher, the boys invited me, your sister, your brother, and your father over for dinner tonight." My mom said, humming quietly to herself. My eyebrows raised when she mentioned my dad. I knew they invited my parents, but I didn't know if they'd both come. I just hoped they did. Kolfinna and I had something important we wanted to share with them.

"Oh? Are you both going to go." I asked nonchalantly. She was quiet for a moment, then spoke.

"Yes. According to Angelo, it's an important dinner that needs to include the entire coven family. So your father and I are putting our differences aside for tonight. It's all about you and Kolfinna." She smiled happily.

"Thank you mom. That means a lot to us, you don't have any idea." I smiled, kissing the top of her head. "Speaking of which, where is the little brother of mine?" I asked, holding Kolfinna's hand.

"At your father's house. He decided to move in with him. I don't know, apparently I'm not the hip mom anymore. But at least I still have your sister." She smiled. I gave her a sad smile and put my hand on her shoulder.

"Things will get better mom." I said, kissing her cheek. She smiled weakly and hugged my waist.

"They already have. Just having my baby boy back home with his lovely mate. I just can't wait until you two give me some grandchildren!" She replied. My eyes widened and I could feel myself getting embarrassed. Kids? I don't want kids. Kolfinna looked just as shocked as me. Actually a little more than shocked. She looked in pain. That's when I remembered. Her scars. The rogue.

"Excuse me." She whispered, Tears started to fall down her cheeks and she walked out of the room. I sighed. My mom looked confused. I looked at my mom.

"Try and not mention children to her. That's a tender subject." I said before walking after Kolfinna's trembling body.
