While Rick left the loft and went to Espo's, Kate went out of the bathroom and took a bottle of Vodka. She started to drink and drink. Until she felt the pain calm down a little. She felt like she was out of her body. That wasn't her now, it was another Kate. A Kate less in pain. She went back to the bathroom and sat down. She kept drinking until she felt that she was about to pass out. She could feel her soul living her body. Before passing out she managed to take her phone and dialed a number.
- "Hi darling, it's been a while." Said Lanie on the phone
She heard sobs and hard breaths.
- "Katie? Are you alright?" asked Lanie, worried
But there was no answer.
- "KATE?!" Lanie yelled on the phone
- "La-Lanie..."
That's all Kate had time to say before passing out.
- "KATE, ANSWER ME!!"
But all she could hear was someone suffocate.
- "Kate, stay with me. I'm on my way!!"
Lanie ran to her car and drove as fast as she could. She tried to call Rick but she kept falling on his voicemail.
- "CASTLE! ANSWER ME FOR GOD'S SAKE! SOMETHING'S WRONG WITH KATE!"
She hung up and threw her phone on the car seat next to her. She parked in front of their building and ran as fast as she could to the loft. She knocked on the door but there was no answer. She turned the doorknob and the door opened.
- "KATE? KATE WHERE ARE YOU?" Lanie yelled.
She went to the living room but she wasn't there. She ran to the bedroom thinking she would be in her bed but she wasn't. Then she heard a noise coming from the bathroom. The door wasn't fully closed and Lanie could see that someone was there. She pushed the door and saw Kate laying on the floor, a broken bottle of vodka next to her.
- "OH MY GOD. KATE!! Honey, can you hear me?"
She put 2 fingers right next to her carotid to find a pulse and it was there. She was alive. Pale and in a bad condition but alive. She was about to put her on her side so she won't smother if she throw up when she saw her wrist. It was covered by blood. She took a towel and started to clean the sore. That's when she saw the piece of glass into her hand.
- "My God Kate, what have you done?!"
The sore wasn't deep enough to reach the artery but enough to make her bleed. She didn't need stitches though. Lanie took her bag and grabbed some gloves and some compress. She cleaned the sore and put a bandage on it. She grabbed Kate in her arms; she could feel that she had lost a lot of weight. She laid her on the bed, still on her side and looked for some ice to put on her forehead.
Kate was lucky that Lanie was a doctor because she didn't have to go to the hospital.
Lanie grabbed her phone and dialed Rick's number.
- "This is Richard Castle, leave me a message and I'll call you later" said the voicemail
- "Rick" said Lanie all shaking "You need to come ASAP!"
She hung up and sat next to Kate.
