Kate let Rick move closer. She starred into his eyes, right into his deep blue eyes to seek the truth. When the tears started to flood his eyes, she knew. Kate knew that Annabelle was his therapist, just his therapist and nothing more. Part of her wanted to wrap her arms around him and never let him know, but the other part of her thought- she didn't know what the other part of her thought.

Kate let her overnight bag slip from her shoulder to the floor as she let Rick take her in his arms. Her face buried into the crook of his neck while her arms wrapped around his neck.

- "I'm sorry Rick, I'm so sorry." Came her muffled apology between sobs.

Rick kissed the side of her neck, just below her ear to where he could reach.

- "We'll work through this, sweetheart, we will."

As Rick tried to hold back his own tears he managed to guid Kate to the couch and lay her down despite all of her protests.

- "Rick, no! Stay..."

- "I am, honey." he said pulling a blanket over her. "I'm just going to talk to Lanie, tell her what's going on. I'll be right back."

He pressed his lips to hers briefly and stood up. Kate rolled to her side and Rick went to the front door where Lanie was waiting. He opened the door and closed it quietly.

- "So writer boy, wanna tell me what the hell is going on?"

Rick sighed and ran his hands through his hair.

- "Look, I'm glad you were here for Kate, I know I should have been, but we had a fight and I needed air, Kate has been out of control since we lost the baby. Maybe it was selfish of me, but I needed air."

Lanie looked at him, he was.. Lost.

- "Rick, I know you two are going through a hard time but you two need to work this out. She loves you and you love her, I know you can get through this. But you should have told her about Annabelle sooner."

- "I know Lanie, but it happened, it's over with, but I have to get back to her."

Laine nodded and she turned to leave, but Rick caught her in a hug.

- "Thank you Laine."

- "Anytime Rick, now get back to your girl."

Rick watched as Lanie left and he went back into the loft and sat next to Kate on the edge of the couch wrapping his arm around her shoulders bringing her closer to him. She snuggled into his side and he kissed her head. Rick looked down at her tapped wrists and lifted her right arm.

- "Wanna tell me what happened?" He asked looking down at her.

Kate pulled her hand away lightly and tried to hold in her tears.
