Hi everyone. This chapter is a little bit shorter then I wanted it to be. Just as you read in the title, we'll get to read about Julie's past. Vote and comment if you liked it and follow me for more updates and stories.

Dan’s P.O.V
*Beep, beep, beep*
I slammed on the snooze button. 7 o’clock was just too early. I sat up straight in my bed and rubbed my eyes. I threw the blankets of me and dressed myself in black tank top, brown pants, with my rings and keys, and black combat boots. I grabbed my blue sweater and made my way towards the dining room.
‘Good morning Dan!’ I turned around and saw that Kaya was running towards me. ‘Good morning.’ I said. ‘Are you excited for your first mission?’ She asked. ‘I guess so. Just scared that I fuck up.’ She laid her hand on my shoulder. ‘Don’t worry. Nanami is in charge. Just follow the things up she say and everything will be alright.’
‘Julie had warned me about Nanami. Why should I be careful around her?’ Kaya’s eyes grew wide. ‘She can be reckless sometimes.’ She said casually, moving her eyes to the left. She was lying. I just decide to play along. If they didn’t tell me, then I had to see it for myself. ‘Okay,’ I said, petting her on her head. ‘I’ll be fine. Let’s have breakfast.’ I said with the brightest smile I could put up.
We entered the dining room and saw that a group already was having breakfast. ‘Why are they up so early?’ I asked, pointing at the group of people with different kind of ages. ‘They also have mission. They are going to kill the monsters that are in abandoned buildings.’ She said.
‘There is Nanami!’ Kaya said happy. I hesitated. ‘You can go. I grab some food and go look for Julie.’ I said. I grabbed some bread and ate it as I search for Julie.
I found Julie in one of the gyms. She was practicing some attacks with her wooden sword. ‘For how long are you up?’ She squealed softly. She sighed when she saw that it was me. ‘I don’t know. 2 hours?’ She said casually as she placed her sword in her belt.
I heard a weird sound. Julie placed her hand on her stomach. ‘Was that your stomach?’ I asked laughing. ‘S-shut up!’ She said embarrassed as her cheeks had a light shade of pink on them. ‘Come.’ I said as I turned around. She followed me and we made our way to the dining room.
‘Thank you so much for everything.’ I said. Julie stopped walking. ‘For what?’ she asked. ‘For training me.’ Julie leaned her back against the wall and placed a foot against it.
‘It isn’t much. I have to. You need to protect yourself,’ she said. ‘You are doing great.’ She smiled. In the corner of my eye I saw a group of people walking towards us. I saw that Julie had noticed them too. She sighed irritated. She grabbed her wooden sword from her belt.
‘Dan, let me handle these people.’ She walked towards them. There was a man around the age of 25 in front of the group. He had a Corporal badge on his right shoulder. ‘What are you doing, Carver?’ she hissed. ‘Good to see you too.’ Carver said laughing. ‘We need your help. Can you lead us through the Dragon passage?’
Julie’s P.O.V
‘No.’ I said and I turned around. ‘Julie, you’re the only one who knows every road in that passage.’ I turned around to face him. ‘What the hell would I help you? You didn’t help me 10 years ago! What gives you the right to let me help you through the Dragon passage?’ I spat at him.
A girl, that was a few years younger them me, stepped forward. ‘Please help us.’ She begged. I looked at all the soldiers that were standing behind Carver. ‘What do you all think about your beloved Corporal?’ ‘He is really nice, strong and trustful.’ The same girl said. The rest of the soldiers agreed with the girl. I started to laugh. ‘They really don’t know anything about you!’ I told Carver.
‘He isn’t what you think he is!’ I said grinning. ‘Julie, enough!’ Carver shouted. I chuckled. ‘Don’t you dare to tell me to be silent!’ I said threatening. ‘Tell them what you’ve done 10 years ago and maybe I’ll help you.’ I said. ‘Julie, I beg of you. We need your help now!’ I looked at Carver. ‘You really are desperate!’ Carver sighed. ‘Kids,’ he said, turning to his soldiers. ‘My past isn’t the… cleanest.’ A boy around the age of 15 stepped towards Carver. ‘What do you mean, Corporal?’ 'Isn’t the cleanest?’ I questioned him laughing. ‘For all the goddamn things you have done, you should’ve already been dead if everyone knows about it!’
The soldiers looked shocked at me. I pointed my sword at him. ‘He left a 7-year-old girl to die. That girl had to kill the people that were about to rape and kill her.’ I said with fury in my eyes.
‘That girl was me!’ I yelled.
The soldiers gasped. ‘Julie.’ I heard Dan say. ‘You ran away like a coward, while you left me to die.’ I said with a crack in my voice. I clenched my fists. ‘Just wait for it. You’re punishment will come’ I said. I turn around and walked away.
When I was sure that I was far away from Carver, I stopped walking. Tears fell down my cheeks. Why does that asshole think that I would help him or the Magic Military. It's filled with cowards and traitors!
‘Julie!’ I heard Dan scream. Before I could run away, I felt Dan’s hand on my shoulder and I was spun around. Dan was out of breath. ‘I-’
I cut him off. ‘Don’t say anything! I don’t need pity.’ Dan had a sad look in his eyes. ‘Who was that?’ I sighed. ‘That was Carver Thomas, a Corporal of the magic military.’ I started. ‘He used to be a childhood friend of me. We got attack, because the Dark Hounds found out that I was Z- mage. Z- magic is one of the few blood type magic’s that can be stronger than Dark Magic. They could do everything to me that they wanted to do. Carver was with me, but he…,’ I stopped to take a breath. ‘He left like a coward and I was all alone. I killed the men that attack me and I had no idea what I was doing.’ A tear fell down on my cheek. ‘I lost my childhood.’
I felt that Dan wrapped his arms around me. ‘It’s okay. You don’t have to say anything.’ I burst out in tears. ‘I just wish that he would disappear.’ I cried in his chest.
I realized how I was acting and I pushed myself away. I wiped away the tears and put up a fake smile. ‘I’m sorry for that. I’m fine. Let’s get some food, because I’m starving.’
Dan raised an eyebrow. ‘Sure.’ He finally said with a smile and made our way to the dining room again.
