Chapter 19; Captured and broken

Hi everyone! This is my last update for in 3 weeks. I'm going on holiday, so I won't be able to upload. I'll work as hard as I can to make so many chapters so that I can upload right away after I come back. I hope you all have a nice holiday. Julie’s P.O.V

I woke up and I struggled to open my eyes. I had a terrible headache and I felt uncomfortable. As I opened my eyes, I met a pair of familiar eyes. The eyes of Darren. My eyes shut wide and I tried to attack him, but I couldn’t move. My body was wrapped in ropes and I was tied up against a pillar.

As I looked around, I saw that Nanami was also tied up, but covered in blood and bruises. ‘You fucker! What did you do to Nanami?’ I screamed at him. He walked towards Nanami and lifted her head up by placing his hand under her chin. 

‘I went a bit too hard on this beauty. I think that I shouldn’t have used her as a punching bag.’ He said as he looked over his shoulder and gave me a sly look. ‘Burn in Hell!’ I screamed.

He started to laugh like a maniac again. ‘If I go to Hell,’ he said as he turned around and started to walked towards me. He brought his face inches from mine. ‘Then you will go with me.’ I gritted my teeth and slammed my forehead against his face, headbutting him. I stumbled backwards, barely keeping himself standing.

‘You are just as naive as you always were.’ He said as he grabbed his forehead. ‘It always got you into trouble, just like now.’ He said and he kicked his foot in my face. 

‘Julie, fight’ My eyes widened and kept in my screaming.

‘I was planning to remove your Z- magic, just like I was planning on Kaya, but I’ve changed my mind. I’m going to beat you to death.’ An awful, wide grin appeared on his face.

‘Coward!’ I screamed from the top of my lungs, causing Darren to take a step back. ‘If you want to kill me, do what you like, but untie me and fight me like a man.’ I hissed at him.

Darren grinned at me. ‘Okay, you’ve got your fight!’ He grabbed his knife out of his holster and cut through the ropes. I stood up and prepared myself. He held back when Dan and I were fighting him. How do I know? Because Nanami wouldn’t be totally be beat up else. This was going to be a hard fight.

Nanami’s P.O.V

I constantly slipped in and out of conciousness. Opening my eyes was impossible. I heard the faint sounds of people talking to each other. The voices started to be more clear.

‘Burn in Hell!’ I heard and after that were the sounds of someone groaning audible. ‘You are just as naive as you always were. It always got you into trouble, just like now.’ I managed to open my eyes and saw that Julie was tied up and Darren in front of her. Just before my eyes fell down again, I saw Darren kick Julie in the face. ‘Julie, fight.’ I whispered through my earphone. I started to hear screaming coming from Julie. 

I couldn’t make out any of the words anymore, because my hearing started to shut itself off. I felt like the world started to turn backwards. Just before I lost my conciousness, I heard the words, ‘Nanami, hang in there. I’m going to save you!’ ‘Thank you, Julie.’

‘Wake up.’ A soft voice whispered in my ear. My eyes were shut and my head was pounding. I think it would be impossible for me to wake up. ‘You need to wake up.’ The same soft voice said, sounding worried. I slowly opened my eyes and met a bright, white light beam. 

My eyes got used to the light. As I looked around in my surroundings, I saw that the space I was in, was parted in two. One half of the room was white and the other side was black. At the edge were the colors changed was a circle. It was white on the black side and black on the white side.

‘It’s good that you’re awake.’ I squealed softly as I heard the voice. I slowly turned around and saw a boy around the age of 14. He had short, white hair with deep, blue eyes. I was so shocked by his appearance, that I slowly started to flinch.  ‘Don’t be afraid. I’m here to help.’ He said sweetly. ‘I never thought that I would see you again.’ I said, still in shock. The boy smiled. ‘It’s been a long time, isn’t it, sister.’ Tears started to stream down my face. ‘

‘Why are you here?’ I asked him. ‘You and Julie are in danger. You can save her.’ My little brother said. I raised an eyebrow. ‘How? I’m unconcious and tied up in reality.’ I said annoyed. ‘You still have a lot of power in you left. You can revive Julie’s power.’ He told me. I widened my eyes. ‘Revive her powers? No one has done that in ages. It’s impossible.’

‘Sister, after my death, you learned how to use an Shadow gun. Not many people can do that either.’ My little brother says as he places his hands on his waist. ‘You turned your sadness into strength. You can do this!’

‘How do I revive her?’ I asked, determined to save Julie and everyone else. ‘You have to feel your energy flow through your system. It’s very difficult and you need to be concetrated and focused.’ He told me, refering to my lack of concentration when we were younger.

He continued. ‘As you feel it, you have to make eye contact with the person you want to revive. If the person looks back at you, you say the words ‘animam refoue’. After you say those words, the reviving will happen. It can take a while, so you have to make sure that there are no enemies around.’ My brother finally finished. 

I nodded as I repeated everything he said in my head. I had to rememeber this. ‘Can you please repeat the words I just told you?’ He said. ‘Animam refoue.’ I said, repeating the Latin words. My little brother smiled a happy, yet sad, smile. 

I stood up and walked towards him. I looked at my little brother. He was staring at his feet with a depressed look on his face. ‘It’s so lonely without everyone.’ He said as his voice cracked. ‘It’s quiet without you.’ I said, trying to cheer him up. We both laugh a little bit.

‘I wish that I could bring you back.’ I said as a tear rolled down my cheek. ‘You’re an idiot if you do that.’ I look confused at him. ‘I would only suffer. And how do you plan to bring my body back? It’s gone anyway.’ He said, making me face the fact that he is gone for good. ‘You’re right, but still, I wish I could.’ ‘I wish you could too, but it would be the stupidest thing on earth.’ I laughed a bit at his comment. 

‘How are mom and dad doing?’ I asked him. ‘They’re fine, but they still feel sad that they left us that day.’ My little brother said. ‘They couldn’t provide a plane crash. I understand their sorrow, but it’s absolutely not their fault.’ I said as I placed my hand on his transparent shoulder. ‘Save Julie and everyone else for me.’ He said as he looked down.

‘It is time for me to go.’ He said sadly as his feet started to disappear. ‘Don’t leave me. I can’t do this on my own. I don’t want to be lonely anymore. Please, stay!’ I said as I started to cry. ‘I don’t want to leave you either.’ He said as he started to cry too. He grabbed my hand as his legs started to disappear. Soon his hands started to disappear too. ‘Say hi to Julie for me.’

I wrapped my arms around his shoulders. ‘I love you, little bro.’ I said as I rested my head on his shoulder. His chest and shoulders started to disappear. I let go of him and took the chance to see his face for the last time.

‘Goodbye, Nanami. I’ll always be near you. ’ He said as his necks started fade away. I wiped away my tears and I said before he completely disappeared, ‘Goodbye, Tyago.’
