Hi guys. This is a pretty boring chapter, because a lot get explained. Multimedia is 'Numb' by Linkin Park, because I think it shows how Dan feels.
Dan's P.O.V
I woke up by someone throwing water in my face. I sat up straight and gasped for breath. I groaned and grabbed my stomach. 'Ah, you finally woke up,' A female voice, which sounded as Julie, said. 'I kicked you harder than planned. I'm sorry.' I heard her chuckle a bit.
I grabbed my head to control the headache I had. 'What happened?' I asked. 'Eaters attacked our class. Julie and I took them out.' I heard Kaya's voice. 'What are Eaters?' I asked confused. 'Eaters are the names of the monsters that attacked us.' Julie said casually.
There was a knock on the door. 'Come in.' Julie said. The door opened and a boy around the age of 17.
'Julie, the boss wants to see you and that guy.' He said, looking suspicious at me. 'We will be right at it.' She said. She jumped out of her chair and walked up to me. 'Let's go.' She said. She grabbed my arm and dragged me out of the room, into the corridor.
'Wow, wow. Hold on a minute!' I said as I pulled my arm back. 'What the hell is going on?' She sighed. 'Follow me and you'll know why.' She said. 'Fine, I'll go to see that boss of yours.' I said annoyed. Julie looked over the corridor and said, 'Follow me.'
'Like this day could get any weirder.' I mumbled to myself.
Julie pounded with her fist against the door. She opened the door without waiting for an answer.
'Julie, don't try to break the door next time you knock.' A man in a big chair said. I think he was in his late twenties. He placed his hands on his desk and got out of the chair.
'It's nice to meet you, Dan Terrance.' I raised an eyebrow. 'How do you know my name?'
The man started to laugh. 'I know everything about you.' I started to feel real uncomfortable. There was an adult that knows everything about me, even though this is the first time we've met each other.
'We've been observing you for a long time,' the man said as he folded his hands together. 'For a very good reason.' He had a serious look on his face that made me take a step back.
'You have a special blood type. Blood type Z. It's a blood type that contains a certain form of magic in it. You are, just like Julie and Kaya, a mage.' I held my breath. I was speechless.
'I know it sounds weird, but you've seen it for yourself.' He pointed with his hand towards Julie who was leaning with her back against the wall, watching the whole scene.
'You mean I have magical powers?' I barely brought out. 'That's right, son. You are a Z- mage and we are going to train you in it.'
'When? If I would train on school days, it would become suspicious.' I noted. 'We are going to tell everyone that you got a basketball scholarship and that you could start right away. It's your last school year anyway.' I was shocked.
'Wow, hold on, old man,' I exclaimed. 'I want to have a job. If I don't have a certificate, I won't be accepted anywhere.' The man started to laugh again.
'You don't need a job anymore. You are a mage. You work for the Blood Mages now. You can go on missions and get paid for it.' I walked forward and slammed my fist on his desk. 'I think that is for me to decide.' I hissed.
The man sighed. 'Let me put in this way. If you don't accept to be trained as a Z-mage, you've got a big chance that you will be murdered by monsters.' My eyes grew wide.
'Your awakening has already happened. We don't know the reason, but since your power is awaken, you are in danger if you can't defend yourself.'
'Awakening? What do you mean?' I asked confused. 'You can use your magic since you were little, but the previous boss had put on a lock on your magic, because you would be in a lot of trouble.' Julie explained. 'But the lock has run out of magic and your own magical powers were awakened.'
'How do you know that my powers have awakened? ' I asked the man. 'You got attacked my monsters. That would say enough. And your eyes are a different color.' He said casually. 'What?'
'Here.' Julie said as she handed me a small mirror. I looked at my own eyes and saw that my blue eyes were now yellow. 'But they were still blue when I woke up!' I exclaimed. 'They were already yellow when we were doing basketball. It must have happened when you were in the gymnasium.' Julie said in a monotone voice.
'If you decide to be a mage, you will be much saver and you can be trained to protect yourself and others.' The man said.
'Will I still be able to see my little sister?' I asked. 'Good that you bring up your little sister,' the man said. 'She is also a mage, only she has a different type of magic.' I raised an eyebrow.
'There are different kinds of magic?' The man nodded. 'That's correct. Each magic has a different blood type. Your sister has blood type V.' 'So she is a V- mage?' I asked.
'That's right. She has magic that can control humans and animals. She can read and take over their minds and control their bodies.' 'But she has never done that before. How do you know for sure that she's a V- mage?'
'Unlike you, her powers haven't awakened yet, but we know from every person in the world their blood type. Your sister has blood type V for certain.' He told me.
'I haven't told you my name, have I?' The man suddenly asked. 'No, sir.' I answered. 'My name is Joe, Joe Storm,' he said.
'But I want you to consider the idea of being a mage.' I started to think about it. If my sister would be safe, then I don't think it would be a problem. My father won't even realize that we're gone during school days.
I rubbed with my hands over my face. 'I have two questions.' I said as I held up two fingers. 'And that is?' Joe asked.
'If I say that my sister and I join the Blood Mages, how long do we have to train?' 'That depends on how willing you are to train.'
'When are you going to tell my sister about this?' 'If you are going to agree with the training, then we tell her right away. If you decide to not train with us, than not, but we have to erase your memory then.'
I started to think again. It would be really awesome. I have magical powers. I mean, everyone wants that. At least I do. But I also want to live a normal life. No hectic or complicated things. 'I have one last question!' I said. 'Can we always stop with being a mage?' Joe looked confused at me. 'What do you mean?'
'No.' Julie said coldly. 'Once a mage, always a mage. Your memories will be too big to erase. You have to decide now.' She sounded annoyed. I slowly nodded in response.
'Okay, I'll do it! I'll do it for my sister's safety!'
Joe clapped his hands. 'Good!' He held out his hand. I grabbed it and shook it firmly. 'This is going to hurt a little bit.' Joe said. 'What do you mean-' I was cut off by my own screaming. I felt how electric waves went through my body. I dropped to the ground on my knees. I looked up to Joe.
'Now you are officially a mage. Welcome to the Blood Mages.'
