Julie’s P.O.V

I charged forward, lunging my sword at Darren. He blocked the sword with my own sword. ‘You’re going to regret this decision.’ He said, looking angry. ‘And you’re going to lose it, since you’re defenseless.’ I said, smirking. ‘Defenseless? I got your own sword in my hands, I think I’m not that defenseless.’

Flavo Lacerta, Sword of the Yellow Lizard, you are allowed to rest!’ I chanted and the sword disappeared out of Darren’s hands. He looked at his hands, confused and lost. ‘I think you are pretty much defenseless.’ I said, turning my smirk into a grin. As I caught him off guard, I raised my sword and smashed the blunt side against his ribcage, causing to tear his clothes apart. He groan and growl in pain. A big, dark bruise started to form on his side.

I started to attack Darren even more, giving him more bruises. I swung my sword downwards, towards his head. Then, Darren did something I didn’t expected to happen. He grabbed the sword, blood dripping down from his bare hands. I pushed the sword even further down, putting more pressure on it. ‘You are just as stupid as ever.’ Darren said, his voice full of hatred.

‘Don’t,’ I hissed at him as I started to even more pressure on his hands.

‘call,’ more pressure.

‘me,’ more pressure

‘stupid!’ I yelled out. I stopped putting pressure on my sword. Instead, I swung my sword upwards, out of his grip. I spun around on my heels, slamming the sword to the side of his head, knocking him to the ground. I heard the sound of bones cracking. I grinned at him.

He grabbed the side of his head and looked at me. I walked towards him, kicking him right in his face, sending him flying. He landed on his back. Suddenly, he grabbed my feet and twisted it, making me fall backwards. He slowly got up and walked to me. He sat on top of me, starting to strangle me.

Out of the corner of my eye, I saw Dan running towards Darren. ‘Dan, no!’ I screamed and I threw Darren off of me. Dan looked helplessly at me. ‘Don’t interfere, Dan.’ I said, out of breath.

I ran towards Darren, kicking him in the abdomen. Darren quickly recovered and charged forward punching me in on my cheek. Out of intuition, I swung my sword recklessly, hoping I would hit him, and I did. The sword hit him against his left ribcage, making him fly to the side, landing on his back. I placed my foot on his chest. The same dark aura from before rose out of my body and sword. I raised my sword and closed my eyes.

Adamas, Sword of Diamond. Take his power and take his strength. Let him feel pain and let him feel numb!’ I chanted. I opened my eyes and stabbed the sword in his chest. Darren eyes widened. A gold light rose from Darren’s chest. Wind started to circle around me and Darren.

‘Julie, what are you doing?’ I heard Dan yell at me. I ignored him. The gold light from Darren’s chest started to turn black. It came completely out of his body and rose in the air, in front of my face. The light disappeared with a loud bang and the wind started to settle down.

I looked down on Darren’s body. He lay motionless with wide eyes on the ground. I grinned at him. I had defeated him. I defeated Darren.

I dropped on my hands and knees to the ground, resting my body on my arms. I panted heavily as I tried to regain my energy. I had drained Darren’s energy out of his body, causing to also drain my own energy.

I looked up, searching the room for Dan. He was hoovering over Nanami’s body, looking for any deep cuts or wounds. I caught him looking at me, from the corner of his eyes. His yellow eyes widened. He jumped up and ran towards me.

As he came closer, he dropped on his knees, sliding a bit over the ground, making the space between us smaller. He wrapped his muscular arms around my body. I sat up and moved in his arms, wrapping my arms around his lower back. ‘The battle is over. For real… this… time.’ I said, losing conciousness.

Dan’s P.O.V.

‘For real… this… time.’ Julie said, falling unconcious in my arms. I laid her down on the ground. I smiled at her as I stroke a strain of her hair out of her face. She looked so peaceful. She really reminded me of Jodie sometimes. The worried and concentrated looks on her face. Her determination. I looked at her closed her eyes and smiled again. ‘You strained yourself again.’ I whispered.

‘Ngh, what happened?’ I heard. I turned my head and saw that Nanami was awake and moving her body. ‘Nanami! You’re awake!’ Nanami gave me an irritated look. ‘No, I’m a zombie and came back from the dead.’ Nanami said annoyed. I simply laughed at her terrible and sarcastic joke.

‘What was up with Julie’s new armor?’ I asked Nanami. Nanami sat up straight, resting her back against the pillar. ‘I revived her.’ She said as the movements made her whole body ache and she grabbed to a wound on her side. ‘Revive her?’ I asked confused. ‘I send my remaining energy to her body, giving her more energy to fight Darren.’ She explained.

‘Her power had increased and that meant that she became stronger. When you get to a certain age, you’re armor will change into a stronger one,’ Nanami paused for a bit to breathe. ‘Her armor should’ve changed when she would become 20, but since I revived her and gave her more energy, something probably had gone wrong. She fell unconcious, because her body is under great amount of stress because of the sudden change in her energy system and due exhaustion.’

I nodded. ‘We need to get out of here.’ I said. I walked towards Darren and started to tie him up real good. I checked him on weapons, which he had.

‘Ayden, we got Darren. The battle is over. Send some people to come help us to take Darren away.’ Nanami said through her earphone. ‘Yes ma’am!’ I heard Ayden exclaim.

Nanami was pulling herself to her feet. She nearly fell over, but she managed to stay standing. ‘Nanami, I think you should sit still and wait for people to fix you up. You’re in a bad shape.’ I told her, worried about her health. ‘It’s not as bad as it looks.’ She said, her voice rough.

As she tried to walk towards the door, I noticed how badly wounded she was and how she looked. Her clothes were torn at some places, revealing huge bruises and cuts. She turned around again. ‘Do you please take care of Julie? I’m going to Joe to report our victory.’ She said. Her eyes were red and swollen, like she’ve been crying. I kept quiet and nodded at her. She took one last look at Julie and then walked out of the room.

Not much later, a few people came to take Darren with them. I picked Julie up, bridal style. I walked through the alley’s, towards the exit of the Golden Cave. ‘Ayden, how is Jodie doing?’ I asked Ayden. ‘She is still worried about you and concerned about Kaya’s condition, but she is fine. She really wants to see you.’ Ayden told me. I sighed in relieve. ‘Tell her that I’m on my way. Also, make sure that there’s a place free for Julie so that she can sleep.’ I said. ‘Yes sir.
