Hi everyone. An extra long chapter. I'm going to keep it short, since I'm going to do the talking in the end of the chapter.
Enjoy!
Kaya’s P.O.V
‘Should we come with you, Kaya?’ Dan asked concerned. ‘No, you don’t have to. Joe and Nanami are already coming with me, for certain reasons, and not everyone is allowed to go there.’ I told them. ‘We can wait outside, at least.’ Julie said, trying make them come with me. ‘Guys, really. You don’t have to come. I’ll be fine. Besides, you two got your own things to do. You told me yourselves.’
They both looked at each other for a moment. Julie looked Dan straight into his eyes, trying to tell him that we still should go with her. Dan simply shrugged his shoulder, what caused Julie to glare at him.
‘I’ll be fine.’ I told them. ‘but I got to go.’ Joe and Nanami were waiting for me outside. Joe wrapped an arm around my shoulder. ‘Let’s go.’ He said sympathically. I tried to smile. ‘Yeah, let’s go.’
We were at the place of the execution. It looked like a small arena. We were sitting on a tribune behind a small fence. My brother was brought into the ring of the arena by two, tall, well-build guys. Behind them was a small guy walking with a shotgun in his hands.
The two men, who were holding my brother, stopped walking. The guy with the shotgun walked around them and made some distance between them. He turned around and started to aim. I closed my eyes.
I can’t just stand here and watch! I have to do something now!
‘Stop!’ I exclaimed, attracing Darren’s and everyone else attention. I jumped over the fence and walked up to the guy who was about to execute my brother. ‘Kaya, stop!’ Joe said, trying to stop me.
‘I want to do it.’ I said in a monotone voice, ignoring Joe’s order. I heard Darren chuckle. ‘As I’d expect from my little sister.’ He mumbled. I grabbed the shotgun out of the guy’s hands before he could protest and I started to take more distance between my brother and I. I turned around and aimed for my brother’s head.
‘Goodbye little sister.’ My brother said with a smirk on his face as a sack was roughly placed over his head. ‘Goodbye big brother.’ I said as a tear fell down my cheek. I laid my finger on the trigger. ‘I love you.’ I whispered and I pulled the trigger.
I watched as he body dropped motionless on the ground. I took one last look before throwing the gun away from me and running away from the scene. ‘Kaya, stop!’ I heard Nanami yell at me, but I ignored her
Ran out of the building and startd to make my way towards a place where no one would come.
Dan’s P.O.V
I walked down the path that I’ve walked many times before in my past. Every step that I took, reminds me of something that used to happen on this road. Holding hands with my mother, giving my little sister piggy-back rides, playing hide-and-seek with my friends and walking down this road with my father and my little sister afther my mother’s funeral.
I stopped walking when I saw the giant oak tree in the middle of the park. I started to remember how my mother would scold me for climbing into the tree with my new clothes while my father would just laugh and say that I had to jump so that he could catch me.
‘That were the good times.’ I mumbled to myself. l closed my eyes and chuckled sadly after I said those words. ‘The good times.’ I said, sad that it ended not long after that memory, and I continued walking.
I saw my ‘home’ getting closer. With ever single step I took, more memories started to get back to me.
‘Home sweet home.’ I joked to myself as I stepped onto the porch. I still had a spare key, so I could open the door and enter my ‘home’ like I used to. I opened the door and met the awful smell of whiskey again.
