Mia Cooper | 2 years before | Hotel Lounge
I turn the volume wheel to its max as the room vibrates with the distorted music. The main lounge was radiating with passion and love from my classmates. 'Pump the music!' Lacie screams from the top of her lungs; but yet my ears were deafened by the booming music. I continue to swerve my arms around me, the music almost trancing my conscious mind to forever keep moving. I suddenly felt dehydrated and so I drag myself to the food table, but there wasn't any refreshments left.
'Mia!' Chris shouts as he grabs my shoulder, 'What floor are the toilets? I-I don't feel well.'
I chuckle from the fact that Chris looks incredibly dazed out, 'Come on Chris,' I grab his arm and put it around my shoulder, 'I'll take you there.'
Chris and I walk to the elevator, passing Abby and Mitch who were sexually profound to each other's lips. 'Get a room!' I giggle as Abby extends her right-arm and gave us the finger.
Lightning had suddenly struck outside, and the rain was beginning to pour down outside. 'Almost there,' I tell Chris who was starting to groan in pain. The elevator door closes and I wait inside for a good minute before reaching the third floor. Chris and I take a few steps straight ahead of us till we reach the toilets on our left hand-side. 'Just go Mia, have fun,' Chris groggily whispers, 'I'm going to lay in my bed anyways, my room is on this floor.'
I start skipping down the hall, ecstatically dancing to the music that I could hear downstairs. When I reach the elevator, I press the ground floor button.
Chris is going to be alright? Right? Maybe I should go back for him, but he did say have fun and I'm in no condition to help anyone in my state. Whatever.
Rejoining my classmates, Brock my boyfriend approaches towards me and lays a few kisses on my cheek and holds onto my hips while standing behind me.
'Uh-uh, you aren't getting any of this till later,' I sarcastically scold him.
Still thirsty.
I turn around, the disco lights shinning in my eyes now, I walk towards the kitchen. But, a guy surprisingly bursts through the two doors, pushes me to the ground and rampages towards the elevator hall. 'FUCKER!' I scream, but when the guy turns around, the guy was Chris.
What the hell?
I chase after the guy, passing the food table and then pushing a door outwards to head towards the elevator hall. I heard a ding noise as the elevator door closes, 'Mitch! Abby!' I exhale and inhale rapidly, 'Did you see who that guy was?'
'No, and fuck off thanks!' Abby scolds at me.
'I think it was Chris,' Mitch informs as he returns to kissing Abby.
I spam the elevator button, but the elevator had already started moving up, so I took the stairs and ran to the third floor, almost tripping on a broken, concrete stair.
When I reach the third floor, I ran to room 49, which was Chris', but when I burst inside, he was just tiredly laying on his bed.
'What's up?' Chris asks me.
However, as Chris stands up, something grabs him through the window; pieces of glass falling everywhere. I stare, frozen on spot as Chris helplessly screams for help, but in a matter of seconds, he was gone.

I stare ahead at the school's front door. A paper ball lands on my head as I hear whispers and giggles trailing behind me. It's been a year since Chris' disappearance and also the year of where my life was turned into hell. Abby walks towards me, and purposely bumps into me causing me to fall onto the ground and starts calling me names.
'Slut, hoe, whore and all the stereotypes names you would hear at school.' I got off the ground, my eyes felt heavy from the lack of sleep. I ignore Abby and open the school front door and walk home. Parents passing me, whispering my name as if I'm a threat to society.
I hate it, I hate it so much!
After Chris' disappearance, for some reason, everyone accused me for his disappearance. I once heard a couple of students saying that I killed him myself because he didn't like me. I wanted to attend his funeral, but his parents didn't invite me, even though I was his best friend from childhood, they think I killed him because I was the last person to see him.
I pass a playground and I see mother's running toward their child to defend them, as if I'm holding a weapon to attack them at any moment. I sigh in disappointment.
I finally reach my house, as I open the door and close it. I look in the hallway mirror and I could see eye bags, I start to tear up. But, stop myself before drops could get out. I walk upstairs and enter my room, I threw my shoes and bag onto the ground and sat on my bed. Pulling my sleeve, I could see cuts and bruises on my wrists, this was the only thing that kept me from going insane. But, today was the day I end it all.
I grab my old skipping rope and tie it onto the ceiling fan, I then tie a knot to make gap for my neck. My phone starts ringing as I fall to the ground from shock. I look at the phone and it was Hannah Meyers, one of my only friends.
I pick up the phone and that's when I start to cry, 'I can't do this anymore!' I whimper to Hannah.
'Mia! You can always come to my house, we can talk it out! Please don't cry!' Hannah kindly comforts me as I start to tear up even more.
'I'm sorry...' I finally let out a sigh as I stood up and climbed onto my bed.
'MIA! I'M HOME!' My mum shouts from downstairs.
'Mia? Why are you apologising?' Hannah questions worriedly.
I place the rope around my neck and jump off the bed.
