I silently open the wooden white seemingly ordinary door. There are flashing lights and evil laughter.
"What's that?" Bree whispers. I remember that she doesn't know about my 'secret'. They're gonna find out someday.
I shake my head.
"It's our Lab-" I quickly stop myself.
"For our, dad. He's an inventor and invents things down...there." I reply nervously. She seems to have bought it and nods.
"Okay..." I try to see what he's doing and looks like a classic Frankenstein scene.
He's standing over the metal table. There seems to be body on it with electricity bouncing around. Dad's evil laughter echoes across the room.
"What is that?" Bree repeats, speaking my mind. Slightly, I shrug and keep watching. Suddenly, the body stands up and my eyes widen in surprise.
It's a boy.
"LEO!" Bree yells. Leo turns sharply to her, with glowing red eyes. Dad looks up and scowls at us. Me and Bree look at each other and run as fast as we can out of the remains of the house. Suddenly, Leo is in front of us. He must have bionics, because he ran in front of us. Bree and I turn around, but are faced with dad, who has his arms crossed with a playful look.
"Well, lookie here, Oel." Dad glares. "That's O-El. Like, Kal-El. As in, Superman. But, with an oh and the-"
"WE GET IT." I snap, glaring.
He laughs.
"Well, look who got some courage. Ooh, look-it look-it!" He points excitedly at me.
"My lil' Gwen dyed her hair pink. Aw, it's so cute!" Oel, the guy who looks like Leo, grabs Bree's wrists.
"Hey," She tries struggling away. "What gives?" Dad beckons us forward and he leads us into the basement.

I know I had a choice, to run away right there. But, I couldn't abandon Bree. Dad stuck us in this holographic cage. While he and Oel go after Mr. Davenport, me and Bree are stuck here. She's sitting on the other side of the cafe. I turn away, hoping she doesn't see me cry. I'm not one of those people that cry all the time, but this is worth it. I've absolutely lost now. There's no way of getting out and I can't bring myself to look at Bree know. I brush my eyes with my hand and bring myself to look at her. It's all over, anyway. So, I might as well just tell her about everything.
"Bree," I say unsteadily. She gives me a reassuring smile.
"Yeah?"
"There's...something I should tell you." She nods.
"It's okay. I know all about it." My eyes widen. How long has she known? How does she know? Did Marcus tell her? Maybe I should be asking her these questions.
"How long have you known?" I practically sputter.
"I noticed maybe a couple of days after I met you." My shoulders slouch.
"What," She laughs. "You think it's not obvious?" I frown and stare at the floor.
"Wow. You must really hate me, huh." Now it's her turn to frown.
"I have to admit. I wasn't all that sure about you. I mean, you looked WAY to pretty for him and I was sure you'd break his nerdy little heart. But, you seem okay." I look up at her to see her almost childish expression.
"Wait, what are you talking about?"
"What are you talking about?"
I stare at her for a few seconds.
"Um, I asked first."
"Alright. Weren't you talking to me about you and Chase?" My eyes widen in surprise and I try to shake my blush away.
"W-what? No I wasn't talking about THAT." I explain, smiling uncontrollably. She rolls her eyes and looks around, a serious look growing on her face.
"We'll continue this later. How do we get out of here?" I look around. The computer. I nudge Bree and point to it.
"Yeah, I noticed." She says. "But, how do we get out?" I frantically look about, my mind racing. I stare at the stupid glowing blue bars. Wait, glowing. They're not solid...
"Vibrations!" I snap, beaming.
"Huh?" She asks. I give her a look.
"Bree, do you trust me?" She nods.
"I think so."
"Good. Don't open your eyes until I say so." She frowns.
"What?"
"Please...just trust me. I can get us out of here but I need you to kept your eyes closed." She sighs and nods.
"I trust you." She closes her eyes tightly and I look at the bars and charge at them. I run against them as fast as I can, pushing my limits. My legs and body start to grow hot with tension, but all I can focus on is getting out if here. With every once of power that I have, I bust through the bars.
I almost collapse. I slouch over and catch my breath.
"Can I open my eyes yet?" Bree asks.
"No." She let's out a frustrated sigh, but keeps her eyes shut. I walk over to the computer, override it, and push the bottom. The bars sink into the floor as I tell Bree to open her eyes. She stands up.
"How did you do that?" She asks, almost bewildered.
"No time. COME ON!"
