My vision is blurred, so are my thoughts. The only thing I can think to say is:

"W-what?" Douglas throws his head back and laughs.

"Yes, and it's only a matter of time before your app is triggered too. I just need to install it." He shrugs and yawns.

"But, where are we?" I ask. "Really?"

"Underneath the lab." He looks at the others.

"Well! Don't he a bunch of Debby Downers! Smile!" I laugh at the fact that they're expression remains straight.

"What are you laughing at, Gwen?" I shake my head.

"Nothing, nothing." He gives me a cold-hearted stare, then walks out the door with the three trailing behind him,

This can't be happening. It can't be.

I look around, hoping I can escape somehow. The door isn't a real door, just one that slides. Sadly, it won't for me. I sigh, looking for another way out.

••••

Thirty minutes have passed, and I'm convinced that there is no way out. I sit and lean my back against a wall. How could I have let this happen? This is all my fault. Now, Douglas is going to take over the world. Lives may even lost. And by the time Adam, Bree and Chase realize what they've done, it will be too late. They could have had a future, but now they will spend it locked up in a government cell all because of me.

Anger boils inside of me and I need to take my anger out. Sadly, there is nothing to throw. No one for me to yell at. I search my pockets and come up with Marcus' phone. He has been letting me use it when I need to because I broke/lost mine. Perfect, I can throw this. Destroy. Release my anger. I grip it tightly in my hand and I'm about to throw it, when I roll my eyes.

Ugh, I'm so stupid! I can use this to help me escape and warn someone. Most likely Mr. Davenport. I go to call, but there's no bars. Perfect. But, there's Wi-Fi. So now, I can't call people. Maybe I'll text someone and wait an hour until they check they're phone. Oh, adults. But, I smile. There's one computer software that might be able to save me.

I click on the Davenport's Wi-Fi preying it will connect. I smile in anticipation, but almost throw a fit when it can't connect. That's it. All hope is lost. Suddenly, I hear a beeping sound. I frantically look around, but it's my phone. It connected! See, adults are always telling us to go outside and to stop playing on our devices. I remember Douglas would always give me and Marcus the 'In My Day, We Didn't Have...' lecture. Technology can really save your life. Possibly millions more.

Eddy is linked up to the Davenport's Wi-Fi, so if I wait a bit-

"Hell-o-o!" Eddy's cheerful voice calls from the phone.

"Oh, I never thought I'd actually be happy to see you in my whole life!"

He looks like he's about to make some kind of witty comeback, but I don't let him.

"No time!" I whisper. "Eddy, I'm locked in some kind of lab beneath the Lab."

"Okay, now your insane. One, because you think that exists. And two because your actually wearing that!" I look down at my t-shirt and jeans. I don't look that bad, do I?

"Ignore my outfit. I need you to tell Mr. Davenport that Douglas has Adam, Bree and Chase."

"Yay!" He smiles. "Maybe he'll teach them a thing or two." I glare.

"Eddy this is serious!"

"Alright alright!" He disappears for a few seconds and reappears.

"Done. Now, I'm scanning for-oh!"

"Did you find the Lab?" I ask hopefully.

"No! Taco Bell is having a two-for-one sale!" I roll my eyes.

"You can't eat, Eddy."

"I know I know! But, a software can dream." I sigh. This might take longer than I thought.

••••

I run down the hallway, straight towards the elevator. Eddy's holding it open, but he can only hold it for about ten more seconds. I'm just maybe five steps away, when I see someone lying in a prison cell. There are three. In each one holds Adam, Bree and Chase. The nearest one to me is Bree.

"I can't hold it much longer!" Eddy cries. "Six seconds!" Should I rescue Bree and the others and possibly never escape? Or should I run into the elevator and get help?
