Digging deeper down
Far, far into the ground
A tomb
A crypt
Holds secrets of the past
Undiscovered mysteries
Hinting of a great catastrophe
Farther and farther
Rocks and stones from the beginning of time
Beauty and glory behold the aged ruins
Statues and legends cover everything
Heroes of time forgotten
Discovered with my simple tools
With my hands, I went farther down
My heart racing and sweat dripping down my face
I enter the ditch I poured my life into
I looked around and there it was
My piece of history time forgot.
Through this gate of time, I see
Things of the past, extinct trees
Pillars old and wise stood by me on every side
I gaze upward with tears and dirt on my face
I smile and say
"The secrets buried for so long
Finally, see the light of day
For thousands of years, you lay sleeping
Under my very feet
What other things are you hiding
What other mysteries?"
