Thanksgiving

The season of orange and red hues,

Of gratitude and thankfulness,

Family and cheer

One great holiday only once a year.

Jack Frost comes to visit a lot around this time

Bringing red noses and chills wherever he goes

Alas this wonderful day is often overshadowed

Looked down on as insignificant

For a fat jolly man seems far more important than a tradition of love and thankfulness.

But all is not lost for in many ways this holiday may outshine the rest.

For the tales of old are told once more

And the fixings and turkey are at their perfections

All gather together with joy on the mind

With love and happiness flying through the air.

We all enjoy a short prayer of thanks to the Lord above.

For every holiday brings something new

Except for Thanksgiving for the old tales ring true.

Of times that were hard and lives that were lost.

But the blessings stayed with them on their darkest days.

The days ahead may be shrouded in pain

But one thing must remain the same

Give thanks to the Lord for He is good!

Sometimes things are hard

But this holiday is always here

Here to bring Thanksgiving Day cheer!
