In your hand you hold my heart
It's small I know
It's firm but oh so fragile
So don't forget it anywhere
Or leave it in the dark
Because even though I gave it to you
It's still my heart
So few people have seen it's glow
Because I was afraid to show
It's simplicity and worth
Why did you toss it to the curb?
Bump it along the way
And not even stop to see
The damage you have done to me
Yet if you looked down
You'd still see it where you left it on the ground
It's not for me to retrieve
It's a gift so please
Don't forget to give it back to me
