*Elijah's POV*
I slowly open my eyes I see Asiah sleeping in a chair beside me her knees pulled up into her chest while her chin rest on her knees. Raheem is on the opposite side of the room sleeping on two chairs he's got a snapback covering his eyes but the snoring tells me he's knocked out. I pull at the wires attached to my chest the monitors start beeping faster so I stop I try to think of why am I in a hospital bed. It slowly comes back to me that I was shot and it was all my brother's fault.
Asiah stirs getting my attention I look at her more carefully this time she looks tired her eyes have bags under them, her usual glowing caramel skin is dull, her crazy wild curly hair is pulled back into a nice tight bun on the top of her head.
“Asiah” I whisper wanting her to wake up
She stirs “Elijah, leave me alone” she mumbles
A grin comes to my lips “Asiah” I whisper again
Her eyes open “Elijah your are wake!” she shouts
“Yeah, I am” I say
She begins crying
“Come here”
She stands up I pull her onto the bed with me “It's okay I'm fine”
“I know I'm just so happy to see your awake—I have call Victoria”
“No, don't call her yet just stay here with me”
“Okay”
She lays her head on my chest “Oh, I forgot does that hurt?”
“No, I'm fine” I say
She happily sighs “I missed you, so much”
“I missed you, too” I say kissing her forehead
Asiah's tears slowly stop she looks up at me “I love you”
“I love you, too” I say placing my lips onto her the warmth from her lips transfer to mine all the pain, tears, and unspoken words are put into that one kiss
I break the kiss “I'm sorry I promise to explain everything”
She shakes her head “No, I don't want a explanation”
“But--”
“No, I just want to move on from this”
“Okay”
Raheem's snoring gets louder
Asiah rolls her eyes “He really is something” she says
“Yeah, he is”
“How are you feeling?” she asks
“Okay”
“I should probably get a doctor or a nurse”
“No”
“Elijah, you need a medical professional to check on you I'll be right back” she kisses my lips softly and leaves the room
I look over at Raheem, who's still sleeping and snoring loudly
“Raheem!” I yell
He sits up “What?” he removes his snapback and looks at me
“My baby brother is awake” he says
“Hey man”
He stands up and stretches a little bit “Where's Asiah?”
“Getting a doctor”
“I want you to know that I never meant for this to happen”
“Yeah, I know, we've been through a lot and I'm tired of living in the pass...I forgive you Raheem for all of it”
