My phone sings

“I thought I ask you to change that” Elijah says

“I know I'll change eventually”

Elijah shakes his head “Okay but when Alexis starts singing its gonna be your fault”

“Shut up” I say I answer my phone “Hi, Chris did you need something?”

“Are you busy cause I can call back later” I look around Elijah's sitting right next to me with a sleeping Alexis right next to him

“I can talk so what's up?”

“Have you talked to Angel lately?”

“No, why?”

“I was just wondering”

“Chris, if you have something to say just say it”

“Angel misses you”

“And?” I ask not really caring

“You once told me that you guys have been friends since college and she's part of the reason why you moved out here and she was the only friend you had once you guys moved to L.A.”

“Yeah, all that stuff is true but she basically helped ruin our relationship and you want me to become friends with her again?”

“Yes”

“Angel and I went through a lot together but I don't have any room in my life who people who keep secrets from their best friends”

"Asiah, you say brag about how you've moved on so it's time to forgive and forget"

"No” I say hanging up

“What was that about?” Elijah asks

“Chris, wants me to talk to my ex-best friend just because she misses me”

“I don't like Chris, but maybe he's right...just talk to her and after that see what happens”

“You too?” I ask

“Yes, while Alexis and I are at the doctor getting the DNA test you can go have lunch with her”

“I guess I can”

“And change your ring tone” Elijah says kissing my temple

“Fine”

“Hey” Angel says holding a baby

“Hi, who's this?” I ask

“This is my son, Terrence”

“He's cute, how old is he?”

“Nine months about to be ten”

“Congrats on motherhood”

“Thanks” she looks around for a waiter “Excuse me can I get a chair for my son?”

“Sure, thing ma'am”

“Can I hold him?”

“Yeah” she hands me the child
