“Whhaaattt?!”

Elmo looked at me then he smirked.

“Looks like we are stuck here….for the rest of the night”

“Anong stuck? Nako, ‘di pwede”

“What do you mean, hindi pwede?” Chineck ni Elmo ‘yong phone niya. “And looks like walang signal dito. That’s weird. Kanina nakuha pa kitang i-text pero nawala na totally ‘yong signal ngay:

“So you like to stay here for the rest of the night?Hindi pa nga tayo kumakain”

“Don’t like that? Maybe we got stuck here for some certain reason”

 

Naupo ako doon sa gilid nung door at nag-lean ako doon sa wall.

“Reason?”

Tapos tinabihan ako ni Elmo. “Para mas magkaroon tayo ng quality time together”

“Quality time? Haha.  Maghapon na nga tayong magkasama”

“It feels great here, right? Walang camera, walang media”

“Pero it’s just a matter of time kung kailan tayo babalik sa Manila”

“May 2 days pa. After all, we are going back for work and studies and the hiding will continue. Pero you know what Julie? I didn’t realize na mago-one year na rin pala tayo sa TV. Parang kalian lang, nag-celebrate tayo ng first anniversary month nung tandem natin”

“Ganoon na din pala katagal?”

“Tapos ‘yong gift mo sa akin is watch”

“Oo nga pala!” tinignan ko si Elmo, “Where’s that watch? Hindi ko siya nakikitang suot mo”

“Nasa room ko. At don’t worry, hindi ko nakakalimutan ‘yong watch na ‘yon. Every morning, doon ako tumitingin para maalala ulit kita. In that way, start pa lang ng araw ko, may strength na ako”

“Hmmm is that so?”

“Pero what’s more fascinating for me is that I didn’t noticed that time passed by very fast because you are always right by my side. You know sabi nila, hindi mo daw mapapansin ‘yong time kapag masaya ka kasama ang isang tao” I keep on smiling. Minsan lang magdaldal at magseryoso ng mga sinasabi si Elmo. I can feel the sincerity in his words. “What do you think? Am I right?”

I looked above as I am about answer him. “You’re exactly right. And Moe, I’m still looking forward for more years. More more more years na magkasama tayo”

I know, in the perfect time, we can make it. Sumandal ako sa left shoulder ni Elmo. I closed my eyes. And if we will not make it, I’ll just enjoy the every moment I will spend with Elmo.
