She fears the dark, so he is her sun. He wouldn't let the darkness engulf her till he's there to protect her. Annika is an independent woman and a warrior but each person has their own fears. This element in her character gives it the realistic touch that it is okay to be fearless but even then you'll have something to bring you down. That is when the people in your life will become your support system and lend a hand each time you stumble.
