To undergo a peripheral change of beliefs just out of love is a theme common to much of the entertainment content out there. What Shivaay experienced will forever standout for his feelings allowed him to pause and ponder.
Indirectly, Annika and his relationship became a catalyst for him to change his beliefs and personality. But he changed for he realized where he went wrong and not just superficially out of love, the reason his views progressively evolve overtime.
Not only does he drop classist views but learns to understand how individuals should all be respected regardless of labels and that goes beyond just the dilemma he faced initially. The Shivaay we witnessed speaking for social issues is a man who cares.
That growth too is a result of what he experienced initially.
He cared but for only those close to him, and overtime he learns to care for greater issues and all people.
Development of empathetic feels is his personal growth, not changing out of love.
