Shivaay loves his family deeply. That love often urges him not to only go an extra, but a couple of extra miles for his love for them. In his own words, he shall never let anything bother his family as long as he is there. That is the protective & possessive side of his love. But in all this Shivaay to has boundaries. Shivaay's infinite love for his family makes him sacrifice hinself a lot but it doesn't blind him towards the realities. Be it his mother's wicked schemes or those of his uncle, Shivaay may have taken time to figure out the truth or may have been heartbroken by the reality, enough to not be ready to believe it. He may even his uncle's wicked schemes, but not to protect the wrong but shield his family from bitter truths. Shivaay still hasn't forgiven his mother, and as it seems he definitely wouldn't forgive her this easily. No matter how many times he may hide things from Annika, no matter how many times the too may have a tiff, but her self-respect means to him like his own. That is the kind of line a mature character draws between right and wrong, between bearing the negativity and standing up for the truth and between recognizing and reacting to the reality.
