The air was cold and had a dry tone to it. Not a humid tone that made your clothes stick to you when it was hot. Small little snowflakes fell and landed in my brunette hair. Snow just resting as I watched each individual snowflake fall. Tiny bits of snow that reached out. My beat up combat boots crunched against the soft fresh layer of snow while I put my newly acquired college papers into the bag that my great aunt had bought me. I shook my dark brown hair once more of the snow building up in it.

I pulled the cheap winter jacket that I had bought with some of the cash from my old job for the cold state of winter. My apartment was blocks away and it wasn't the safest thing to walk home at night, but the college was a night college. My great aunt advised me to get a dorm on campus, but I didn't believe that I was ready for that. It seemed to me that staying in the apartment my great aunt rented for me. She paid the rent and bills, but left the rest to me.

I rubbed my hands together wondering when I'd have the money to buy gloves. The cold made my fingers numb so I pulled down my long sleeved shirt over my fingers and then rubbed my hands together in an attempt to keep myself warm. All I had was a few more blocks to go then I'd be back to my apartment. I could get into my semi-comfortable beds after firing up a heater and get underneath the old comforters and fall asleep to the small nightlight in my bedroom. It would be peaceful, a nice peaceful night before my college would start.

I earned a scholarship to the college as I didn't have the money to pay for it. The college was a high class up there college. I worked hard in high school to get to it. I looked up as I headed into a dark under bridge surrounded by woods and I moved my hair aside as I took out my phone and put on the flashlight. Phone flashlights were horrible. The dull white light barely shined in the dark cold alley and barely made a single difference, but at least I could see the soft white snow in front of me.

I continued through keeping my head to the ground when another crunch of the snow came and I looked up. "Hello?" I asked. I could see a figure move forward and it was small. For a moment I felt like I was in a horror movie. A dull horror movie where the starting death scene happened before the title rolled. The crunching of the snow echoed through as a pure white wolf stepped into view. The wolf was huge and eyes, a haunting yet beautiful gold as it was haunting, but that's not what caught my attention.

The blood staining the wolf's leg. "Come here wolfy." I told the wolf who responded by trotting forward and I smiled. I love animals, most people were terrified of wolves. But wolves were beautiful, wild and raw beauty. Nature at it's finest like a diamond that is raw yet so, beautiful. The wolf came up and I checked it's gender and the wolf was a male. "Good boy." I told him bending down to check his leg. I pressed on it and he yelped just a little so I moved fur to see a wide hole that was bleeding.

The blood was warm and sticky on my hands as I let go and stroked his face. "Your ok, come I'll get you to a vet boy." I told him just as there was a flash of bright orange-yellow lights making the wolf look over as a pick-up truck pulled into view and stopped making the wolf's ears pin back and his teeth bared revealing huge canines. The door swung open and a stocky man came out, all I saw was shaggy hair and a rifle pointed right at us. "Run." Was all he said as I stood up.

My body was frozen. My fingers numb and tingles spreading all throughout me making me go still as I watched the man. He put a bullet in the chamber and aimed at the wolf right as a very hard aching pain of my wrist came up followed by a savage growl. Canines, sharp shiny canines piercing my skin and I let out a blood curling scream as a shot was fired and the wolf took off. Black spots filled my vision as I staged holding my now wrist that was gushing bleed over. I heard a cuss as I hit the wall hard before it all went black.

798. So this was called The Wolf's Call. I remade it then reconstructed it so this will hopefully be the final draft and remake of it. You'll find more out about our mysterious protagonist in chapter 1. Until next time shifters!
