Meeting by Chance Staying by Choice

Zoo

The next day, Lana didn't have school so Matt took her on another date. He told Lana that he was only doing it to try and get her mind off of the Johnsons.But really, Matt just wanted Lana to smile again, he didn't want those blue and green eyes to be filled with sadness. 

"Alright, so what do you want to do?" MAtt asked as they got into his car, Lana just looked out the window and shrugged her shoulders. "How about we go to the zoo?" Lana looked over and have a half smile, with a little happiness shining in her eyes. "Alright the zoo it is."

When they arrived at the local zoo, the parking lot was full. Matt paid for the tickets, which had cute animals on the end, one was a polar bear and the other a wolf. 

"Look Matt, it's Kuma!" Lana looked up at him and smiled. MAtt quickly covered his mouth, to hide his smile. They gave the tickets to the man that was checking them then went into a building to their right. Inside there was a lot of fish, of all types. Lana grabbed Matt's hand and dragged him to the nearest tank. In the tank there was a huge fish, some smaller ones, turtles and sting rays. Lana gasped, making Matt look down at her. Lana's eyes were wide with child like amusement. "Woah, that fish is huge!" Then she pulled him to a tank next to it, which contained Paranas.  When she was doen gawking at those, she dragged him to a cylinder tank that had little bitty jellyfish in it. "Matt! I want a jelly fish!"

"We'll see." Lana dragged him to each and every tank and acted like a kid in a candy store. The few people that was around they whispered aw's and thought the couple was the cutest thing ever. Once Lana decided to leave the fish area, they stood outside deciding where to go next. Matt looked at the itinerary. "They have a sea lion show started in a few minutes, want to go see it?"

"Of course!" Matt led Lana to the sea lion part and they stood by the railing. A lady came out of the door at the end of the exhibit and called the sea lions up  to her. She went on and on about the sea lions and made them do many tricks then rewarding them with a fish. She even had the sea lions jump out of te water and hit a ball that was tied to the top of the exhibit. Before the lady went back inside the door, a sea lion jumped up and kissed Lana, who was leaning over the railing watching the sea lions swim. "Oh my God Matt! Did you see that?!" Lana was practically jumping up and down in excitement.

"Yes Lana I did, that is one lucky sea lion."

"Why do you say that?"

"Because it got to kiss you."  Matt mumbled and Lana smiled. She stood on tip toes and kissed him and the crowd cheered in the background. After that little moment Lana wanted to go see the birds. So they went to the bird exhibit. This time though, Matt had her stay by him. They looked at every bird and she tried getting them to come to her. Next was the hoofed animal exhibit, where they saw an animal that looked like a horse and zebra mix, and a baby gazelle.  They continued to go to all the exhibits before going to the reptile house.

"Come on Matt, I want to see the snakes!" Lana tried dragging him in there with her but he refused to go in. "Are you scared?" Matt didn't say anything. "You're telling me, that a big tough man who kills poachers and wrestles bull moose is scared of snakes?"  Matt shrugged his shoulders. "Come on, I'll be there with you, so it'll be fine." He finally let her drag him into the building. As soon as you walked in, there was a giant glass cage that held an albino crocodile. Throughout the building there was tons of different types of snakes and lizards and even frogs. 

By the time they left the zoo, but not before stopping at th gift shop and getting Lana a stuffed animal ,which was a moose, Lana was happier than she had ever been. Too end the day, Matt stopped at an IHOP. Lana brought in her moose and declared that they would play the question game again, to which Matt didn't disagree.
