SALL (Death Note)

Chapter 6

With everything that had happened, Kokona nearly forgot that she was supposed to meet with the possible new SALL member, and she ended up arriving 15 minutes late. But even if she had remembered, she'd probably have been late anyways.

When she was there, she went to the small bench that  the new member was told to be at.  She immediately spotted the girl; it was pretty easy, her bright blue hair made her stand out well. Kokona immediately knew by her appearance that she was probably very wild and outgoing, and waved to the young girl before walking over and seating herself next to the girl.

"A," Kokona held out a hand, "And you are...?"

"Oh! I'm Chiyoko Ichigawa," The girl quickly grabbed Kokona's outstretched hand and shook it, smiling widely. "You're the leader of SALL, right??"

Kokona nodded. "If you want to join, you do understand what you are committing yourself to, correct?"

"L could find us and I could get arrested or killed or blah blah blah," Chiyoko grinned, "Or, Kira wins and we live peacefully."

"That's the spirit," Kokona laughed, looking around the scene. It was quiet and peaceful out, and the only ones in the area was a small child and his parents. No one else, and the family was a distance away. Kokona was quite pleased with her meeting location choice; they were almost all alone. She turned back to Chiyoko, "To join, you have to have the correct mindset, and skill you have that will help the group, and a members recommendation. You have the first and last, do you have a skill to offer SALL?"

"I can fight really well," Chiyoko exclaimed excitedly, "Both my parents were in the military and my uncle is a personal trainer. I can shoot too, and I'm awesome at fighting."

"Fighter?" Kokona nodded slowly, "That's great..." She paused for a moment, and Chiyoko jumped in quickly and spoke fast.

"I could be like your spy?? Or something?? It'd be like a movie!!" Chiyoko shouted, with a huge smile on her face. Kokona couldn't help but chuckle at her enthusiasm.

"Possibly.... You seem like a great girl, but for a week or so we'll have to discuss this before letting you in," Kokona explained, "While having a spy would be great, we don't want a spy from L on the inside. Until then, pick a letter as your alias."

"Uhh C..." Chiyoko looked at Kokona questioningly, "I never understood that though, why are we naming ourselves like L does?"

"To mock him," Kokona explained quickly, and shrugged "Just to make fun of his name, I guess." 

"Oh, okay... Is this uh meeting interview thing over?"

"Yeah." Kokona stood up, and the two girls said their goodbyes and parted ways, with Kokona promising someone to contact her again within the month. They both walked home quickly, both thinking about their possible future of helping Kira.

The next 2 days were filled with chaos. Hideki Ryuga hadn't been at the college in days, and Mei was firm on her decision to keep headquarters address secret from Kokona and anyone else. She had explained she didn't want to get her brother in trouble, but Kokona didn't really care at all. 

She was worried that they wouldn't find anything, but her team had cleared the other suspects of suspicion. Ryuga was simply the only one who made sense.

But as Kokona paced the floor of SALL's warehouse, waiting for Kira's call, she was so nervous. What if they had the wrong person? Kira was merciful, but not in situations like this. If they didn't have the right person, Kira might never let them help him ever. That couldn't happen, Kokona wouldn't let it.
