Chapter 22

"Yeah so I made friends with her. I saw Kokona there too... I gotta be honest with you though, she's kinda hot for a psycho Kira lover. Not as hot as Chiyoko though... But close!"

"Matt please stop."

"I mean, come on. Her hair is crazy and it makes her look wild. Kinda like Iva from this new game I just got and she is smoking hot dude. Like seriously it's crazy just how hot she is."

"Matt focus."

"Yeah yeah," Matt pouted, adjusting his goggles over his eyes with one hand while steering his character on his DS with his other. Though he was focused on his game, he was a good multitasker and could easily hear and understand the conversation at hand at the same time. "I focused while I was there though, and I even made a copy of all her files on her laptop!" He excitedly bragged, waving a small USB flash drive around without his eyes leaving the screen even once. "I'm awesome. Come on, you know it. I am so awesome."

Mello snatched the small drive from Matt's hands, and looked it over. "Yeah, that was good. We lost most of what we had in the explosion thanks to the idiotic taskforce." He set the small computer down on a table beside him, before he continued speaking. "Those girls - especially Kokona - will be key in helping us catch Kira before Near."

"Doesn't Near know about them too though? Won't he make a move too?" Matt questioned, his dark blue eyes still glued to his screen. "I mean, shouldn't we also try to think up a plan B, just in ca - ARE YOU KIDDING ME I TOTALLY BEAT HIM THIS GAME IS BUGGED I DEFINITELY KILLED HIM!"

"Our plan B is to get what we need from them before Near does." Mello stated firmly, ignoring Matt's freak out since whenever he plays a game - which is usually 24/7 - that normally happens. "We need to find out more about this SALL group."

"Okay but I am NOT pretending to join." Matt replied, mumbling slightly and holding the DS even closer to his face than before. "This job is already a lot of work."

"Your only job is literally just to make friends, Matt." 

"Yeah well that's exhausting. Do you know how many times I could've beaten this game if I had played it instead of befriending Chiyoko? At least a dozen. Probably more if I'm being completely honest."

Mello rolled his eyes, before picking up the flash drive and walking towards the stairs. "I'm going to look this over, since you're obviously way too busy." He sarcastically said, and Matt just held his hand above his head to give his friend a thumbs up. Mello rolled his eyes again because apparently once was not enough, and went off to do his work.

He plugged in the flash drive to his laptop, and looked over the files on it. Some more stuff had been added since the last time that they had hacked Kokona's computer, which Mello was thankful for since they had read and reread everything on there enough times already.

"What's this..." The blonde boy muttered to himself, clicking open a lone folder labeled 'applications'. Inside there was only one file. Opening that, he saw a document with the title ' SALL Member Application'. It was filled out entirely, so Mello read through it with great care, making sure he saw and understood the meaning of every word typed into the application.

"Matt!" 

"Whaaaaat?" Came Matt's reply from downstairs. After Mello didn't reply, a sigh was heard along with the sound of boots stomping up stairs. "What do you want??" Matt whined, sounding much like a small child who didn't want to get up or move from his toys (which, in all honesty, was a description that Matt fit quite well).

"You gotta do some research now." Mello ordered, invoking an annoyed groan from Matt. "I want you to find out all you can about ... Teru Mikami."
