Spencer's POV
"Adam come on time for school!"
I shout up the stairs.
"I'm coming." He calls back.
I stand at the bottom of the stairs waiting for him, with his backpack in my hand and my third cup of coffee this morning in the other.
"God what is taking him so long?"
"I'll go get him."
Toby says kissing me on the head. He runs up the stairs of our newly built house.
It's been five year since we got back together, the day I had to get off the plane and run all the way home.
Adam is now 7 nearly 8 and we've been a happy family ever since that night. Hanna and Caleb got married about a year after she left Jordan at the alter and now they have a four year old daughter called Evie. Adam is really good with Evie, he's like her big brother it's so cute. Me and Toby haven't really talked about having more kids yet but I'm sure we will have more once we're married.
That's right just one more week to go and I will be Mrs Spencer Cavanaugh.
Toby finally came down the stairs with Adam a few minutes later, the more Adam grows up the more he looks like Toby.
"there you are I was starting to think your green dinosaur ate you." Adam takes his backpack out of my hand and I ruffle his hair.
"mom stop I don't even like that dinosaur anymore." he says while putting his bag on his back.
"okay then your mom might as well throw it away then." Toby chuckles.
"yeah I figure I cut him up to make it more fun." I say joining in, Adam puts his hands to his ears and shakes his head.
"stop it! I still love it okay?"
I take another sip of my coffee and run my finger along the rim of the mug.
"come on Mr Sweet face time for school."
I put my mug down on the way out the door and Toby follows us grabbing his car keys and one last piece of toast.
I strap Adam in the car and shut the door, Toby comes over to me and kisses me.
"So what time can I expect my fiance home from work?" I question, Toby still holding on to my waist.
"I'll be home for dinner."
Toby goes to get in his truck and waves to me as he gets in. I feel butterflies in my stomach, when he smiles at me, the cheeky way he always did.
Adam taps on the car window and pulls me out of my trance. I get in the car and drive Adam to school, while staring at my engagement ring. I smile to myself and think back to that night when he proposed.
It had been a busy day at work for me, some idiot on the opposite side of my moms campaign was rude and there had been an argument.
*flashback*
I walked through the front door of the mine and Toby's house, took my coat off and hung it up on the clothing peg.
"sorry I'm so late, some women totally flip-" I walked into the living room, it was filled with candles and Toby was stood in front of me while wearing a black suit.
"Toby what's going on?"
"Adam is at your parents house, we have the night to ourselves." he smiles and the all to familiar butterflies came fluttering back.
"Why I thought we were having family movie night?"
"Oh well we can if-"
"Oh no its not that it's just been one of those days. I'm glad we haven't had any alone time since well college."
We both chuckle and walked towards each other.
"There's one thing I need to ask before we have alone time."
I look at Toby confused until he bent down on one knee. I gasped and instantly started getting emotional.
"Spencer, I love you so much. I loved you since we were in high school. I still have little keep sakes from all our most precious moments. I let you go once and I promise I'm never doing that again. I want to spend the rest of my life with you."
I raise a hand to my mouth, completely lost for words.
"Spencer Jill Hastings will you do me the honor of being my wife?"
I'm crying so much it's hard for me to speak but I manage the right words.
"Yes" I smile and he stands up, pulling me into a hug.
*End of flashback*
"mom?" Adam says getting my attention.
"sorry sweetie what did you say?" I had just pulled into the school car park and Adam was collecting all his things.
"I said is Auntie Hanna picking me up after school, with Evie."
"oh yeah and I'll be there to, we thought we would take you kids to the park for a while."
"cool."
We get out the car and I walk Adam to the school gate, I wave him goodbye and watch him join the rest of his class. I just can't believe how old he is now, he had been my rock for those months me and Toby spent apart.
Adam has stayed the same sweet boy he's always been but he's definitely got my sarcastic side, my guess is he's more of Toby mixed with my sassy side. My day is very jam packed and I'm so excited, I waited for Hanna by the school gate. Me and the girls were tying together the last few plans for mine and Toby's big day.
The dresses were fitted and the tuxes were on there way, all we had to do was finish the seating plan and double check everything was prepared. Hanna was my maid of honor because she lives for planning big events like this. The other girls are my bridesmaids and Toby has his best man along with groomsmen.
Caleb was his best man and his groomsmen were Ezra, Jason and Toby's partner Lorenzo. Our plans make our wedding sound like a massive celebration but really it was only going to be a small ceremony in the garden of the Lost Woods.
Hanna tapped me on the shoulder making me jump.
"sorry I didn't mean to make you jump."
"no it's okay, I was just thinking about this weekend." Hanna smiled sweetly at me.
"someone just can't wait for their honeymoon."
"god Han why do you have to make everything so dirty."
We link arms and head for my car.
I just can't wait to be Mrs Cavanaugh.
