Chapter 18- Best Night Ever

Today is the day I will be performing in front of thousand. All week I have been practicing from choreography to singing in front of people. It's eight people are starting to come in and get settled. I'm back stage in the dressing room looking at myself in the mirror. I'm wearing a white dress with black sandals my hair is curled and I have on light make up "I can do this, I can do this, I can't do this, I can't do this what if I mess up? what if I fall off the stage? What if a giant meteor falls out of the sky and hits me?" just then someone knocked on the door snapping me out of my thoughts,

"come in" I said

The door opened and he smiled at me,

"You look beautiful sweetie"

I smiled he came over and stood behind me,

"Thanks dad"

I know he could tell I was nervous

"You don't have to do this"

I shook my head "I want to do this"

"We're all here for your support"

He took something out of his pocket and handed it to me. It's a diamond heart locket I opened it and inside is a picture of the family,

"It was your mothers" my dad informed "she asked me to give it to you when you turn eighteen but now seems like a good time"

I smiled and my dad put it on me. I looked in the mirror and smiled as it shined from the light,

"What about Rachel?"

"I'm having a replica made for her but your mother told me to give the original to you"

"Payton you have five minutes" a man said holding a clipboard

I nodded then walked out of the room. I'm so nervous.

-Jason's P.O.V-

Everyone from the back walked out front to watch her performance including Jake. I know she can do it I have faith in her. Just then the DJ said her name and she walked out she stood on stage with the mic in hand she looked at the crowd then me I put on the headset,

"Dim the lights don't let her see anyone"

The lights dimmed it became dark

"Play the video"

I turned around and on the jumbo screen is a slide show of Annabelle

"Cue the music" I said into the headset

The music started playing and she started singing I heard people talking in the crowd of how amazing she is and I couldn't help but smile she started getting more comfortable,

"Bring the lights up"

The lights came up and I saw a smile on her face the music started becoming up beat,

"Back up dancers out now"

Just then the dancers came out from each side of the stage. I smiled she's doing it, I looked in the crowd and saw her friends and sister they are smiling Rachel is crying I looked at the team and they are all shocked. I spotted Jake and he's not taking his eyes off of her just then she hit the highest note in the song and everyone went insane! I started crying,

"She did it!" Victoria said

i nodded

Just then the song is over and she smiled at me I gave her a thumbs up.

The song is over. I did it! fans are cheering and screaming. I still can't believe that I just sang in front of thousands and I didn't mess up. My family and Jake came running on stage and hugged me,
