My Life Changed When I Met Him

Chapter 33- The Braclet

-Payton's P.O.V-

The sun is setting and the sound of feet on wood is dying down. People would just look at me and I would smile "I can't let them see me upset" I thought "always got to keep a smile on your face" I just sat here on the pier looking out into the ocean deciding what my next move would be. I looked down at my sleeping puppy beside me and smiled "such a good boy" I said making him wake up,

"Payton Ray Miller!!!" a voice yelled

I turned around and saw my father enraged and heading my way. I hastily got up and tried running pass him but failed he held onto my arms making me face him,

"You're not going anywhere!" he screamed

"Let me go!" I cried

"No!" his tone is more scared than mad "what's wrong with you? everyone was scared even Bethany I've never seen her so frightened"

I stopped struggling "leave me alone"

"Tell me why you ran"

"So you could replace me with someone better" I looked at him his expression changed from worry to heartbreak "just like you did mom"

Tears started forming in both of our eyes he let me go.

-Jason's P.O.V-

I'm standing here looking at my daughter as tears ran down her face "I can't believe she just said that" I thought. I should've expected this because she's always has had problems with changes but I didn't think she would say this I wiped away her tears,

"Is that you think I did?" I asked still in disbelief "replace your mother"

She nodded

"No one in this entire world could replace your mother"

"That's what it looks like" she cried "you look at her the way you looked at mom"

"Payton I-"

"You don't care about mom anymore" she said

She's hurt, confused and mad all at the same time and I understand why

"I still care about your mother"

"Then why aren't you still wearing your wedding ring?" she snapped

"Because Payton it's time for me to move on your mother would want to see us happy she would want you two girls to have someone in your lives that you two can talk about girl stuff to"

She just looked at me

"Just because I'm dating doesn't mean I'll replace your mother because trust me no one can replace your mother"

I saw a smile form on her face

"Really?"

"Yeah and trust me if I ever decide to re-marry I'll check with you first"

She laughed "ok"

"Come on let's get back to the hotel"

I knew I would have to talk to Bethany about this tomorrow.

-Payton's P.O.V-

It's the next morning. I'm sitting on the back deck looking on to the beach. Last night I apologized to Bethany for scaring her and the rest of the team but I wasn't let off that easy my dad took my phone for three days but I know I'll end up getting it back sooner also I'm not allowed out of my dad eyesight. The screen door opened and my dad walked out with Bethany following,

"We're about to go to the studio" my dad said "Jake is already there so go get ready"

"I don't want to go to the studio today"
