Chapter 20-They Don't Know The Real Us

-Payton P.O.V-

I'm sitting under a tree writing in my song book. The leaves around me crunched with every movement I made, the sound of children laughing made me smile, I heard mothers talking in the distance about how proud they are of their kids which made me miss mine even more. The chilly wind pierced my skin which caused me to shiver, just then I heard commotion I looked up from my book and noticed the paparazzi coming my way. I calmly got up and walked away with them on my heels. They started asking questions which I didn't feel like answering so I took my headphones out of my back pocket and listened to music. I felt my phone vibrate I took it out and checked it, it's a message from Jake,

Can you please meet me at the studio 😊

Alright I'm on my way 😘

I headed to the studio.

Half an hour later I'm in the studio sitting on the couch watching Jake he saw me and smiled. He walked out and hugged me,

"What's up?" he asked with me still in his arms

"Nothing much"

He handed me a sheet of music I looked at him then back at the sheet,

"They Don't Know About Us" I read "a duet for Jake Thomas and Payton Miller"

"We also have another one"

He handed me another sheet and I read it

"The Truth About Us"

I looked at him

"We have plenty of other ones" he said reaching for more papers

"Jake!" I laughed and took his hands "calm down I already have a song"

I went over to the couch and picked up my song book and flipped to the page which held the song,

"Here" I said handing it to Jake

He studied the page, he would look at me, then the page, then back at me,

"They Don't Know The Real Us?"

He questioned the title as if he didn't like it

"If you don't like it then we could"

He kissed me

"I love it" he said into the kiss

"I hope you would"

He handed Chase the sheet and we went into the studio and started. Once we finished we went over it to see if anything needed to be added or removed,

"This part right here" I said while pointing at the screen which showed pink and green neon lines against a black screen with blue waves "instead of him singing 'People think it's fake but what we have is real' he should speak it"

Chase nodded "ok...now Payton I have something to add"

"Sure...what is it?"

"I want to add you in a speaking part"

"Umm ok sure...where?"

"just as Jake finishes his you come in"

Alright I can say 'they think we're just another tabloid crush but they don't know the real us' how's that?"

He smiled "perfect, then we go into the song"

I smiled "this is really coming together Jake and I will be releasing a song together"

I looked at Jake "is that ok with you? I mean it is your song I'm just featuring in it"

He wrapped his arm around me "Payton it's our song and it will be our music video"
