My Life Changed When I Met Him

Chapter 5-The Date

Throughout the whole weekend I spent it with my sister which is what I needed to get him off my mind. We went to parties and just hung out I never really knew how much fun a party could be, before we knew it Monday came, it was a yucky and rainy day and we didn't feel like going to school so we didn't. Tuesday we called in sick and went to the mall which wasn't too bright because one of the teachers caught us at the mall and told our dad and when we went to ask her why she was at the mall she said that it wasn't any of our business. It's Wednesday I got out of the shower and into my room only to hear on my tv about Jake Thomas I rolled my eyes and quickly turned it off. I put on a white dress with black strapped wedges and my necklace that has my name on it, I grabbed my pink book bag and headed to school.

Pulling into the school parking lot my sister and I got out,

"You got dressed quick today" she said

i nodded "yeah I really wanted to get to school I need to talk to Jade and Ted"

"Okay" she smiled

I ran inside the school to find my friends. I saw them sitting in their normal spot they looked lost I felt bad. I spent all weekend with my sister and totally forgot about my friends and how we spend almost every weekend together I went up to them,

"Sorry Rachel we'll get out of your way" Jade said

Ouch that hurt "Jade it's me Payton"

They stood up

"You look like Rachel and not in a good way" she said

"Yeah and you've been skipping school that's not like you" Ted said

"I'm sorry but I'm going through something and I thought maybe if I changed it would make it better"

"What's wrong?" Jade asked

I looked around then pulled them into a janitors closet and updated them on what's going on,

"No way!" Ted said

I nodded "so that's why I've been acting different but if it makes my two bestest friends disappointed in me then it's not worth it" I said

Jade and Ted smiled at me

"So do you like him?" Jade asked

I smiled then walked out with them following, "do I like Jake?" I thought, the bell rang snapping me out of my thought I said bye to my friends and headed to class. During the whole school day I kept asking myself the same question: "do like Jake? I mean do I? No I can't why would I? I mean look at him he's perfect I'm not and plus he has that one girl who is way prettier than I am"

"Payon!"

I looked up and saw Ms. Larkin staring directly at me

"Yes?" I asked embarrassed

"Stop day dreaming and pay attention!"

I nodded. I needed to get him off my mind but for some strange reason I couldn't no matter how many times I tried.

Finally the school day is almost over! We're wrapping up the end of the announcements when someone knocked on the door. The teacher went over and answered it. I soon felt someone tap on my shoulder I turned around and saw the guy who i can't get out of my mind,

"Hey" he smiled

"What are you doing here? How'd you know what school I go to? and should you be with that girl?" I questioned

"Woah one question at a time" he laughed

I huffed "go away Jake"

"I'm not leaving until you hear me out"
