Chp. 19

Hey guys so this chapter has The Spectacular Now written all over it. I used this movie for a lot of inspiration in this chapter so enjoy!

Once Theo and I were finished getting ready we headed down to the lobby to meet Shai and Dave.

"Hey guys ready to go?" Dave asks.

"Yes!" I answer excited to get to know these people.

Shailene's POV

Something wasn't right with this girl. I know Theo doesn't have family friends with the last name Elgort. He had never mentioned them and usually he does. I can also tell with the way he's looking at her. You jut don't look at a girl like that.

"So where are we going?" Theo asks.

"PF Changs." I answer him.

"Oh she talks." He says back.

"Funny." I say and they all laugh.

We got into the car as it was me and Dave and Skylar and Theo in front of us. She looks way to young to be here on her own. Just saying.

"So Skylar what do you do? For a living I mean." I ask her as she tended up. Ha.

"I'm a student." She says.

"Interesting." Dave says.

"Where do you live?" I ask.

"In New York with my brother." She says looking at me.

"Shai what's with these questions? Does it really matter?" Dave says and I shut up.

I'm going to figure this girl out if no one else does.

Skylar's POV

Shai was making me more and more nervous by the minute. All these personal questions was making both Theo and I tense up. Finally we arrive at the restaurant.

We all took a seat and ordered drinks. They all got alcoholic I got a Coke.

"So Theo, why made you decide to bring Skylar with you?" Dave asked.

"Well she really loves the first film," Lie, "And I thought it'd be a nice expierement for her since she's thinking of drama." Shit.

"Thinking? I thought you were in college?" Shai says getting a confused look from her and Dave.

"Uhm well..." I trail off not knowing what to say as Theo chugs his drink and gets another and chugs that as well. He ordered another.

"Are you even in college?" Shailene asks.

Theo stepped in, drunk, "No she's not." He slurs.

Shit.

"I used to watch her as a kid. By like I mean she didn't know me I just follwed her. Everywhere." He continues.

"Theo," I start but Shai interupts me.

"So how old are you then?" She asks.

"Well, uh, I'm 15." I admit.

"Theo what the fuck is wrong with you?!" Shailene starts to yell.

"I'm sorry Shai. I'm sorry." He slurred.

"I could call the cops right now!" She yells.

"No!" Theo yells standing up, "Come on Skylar." He says grabbing my hand leading me out of the restaurant.

"Damn it!" I hear Dave yell.

As I look back Shai has her head between her hands.

Theo leads me to his car that somehow got here and gets in the driver seat. And begins to drive.

"I'm sure she would've understood." I say.

"Yeah." He mumbles.

"No if it wasn't for my age this would have been fine." I say back.

"Yeah and I probably wouldn't have met you." He snaps.

"Theo," I start.

"What?" He asks.

I laugh a little, "I love you." I say.

He takes a drink from a flask he pulled out, "Psh." he mumbles and shakes his head.

"Dis you hear me?" I ask.

"Yeah." He says.

"Theo I love you." I repeat.

"No you don't." He says making me angry.

"Yes I do." I say.

"No you don't you're wrong." He says.

"Theo I'm not wrong."

"You don't love me." He says again.

"Yes I do!" I yell.

"You're wrong you don't love me, okay? You're just young and grateful that somebody came along and showed interest in you." He says.

"Okay stop. Stop trying to mess this up." I say.

"Mess what up? What dobyou think that this is Skylar?" He says.

"What are you T-shirt THEO!" I yell as I see afar coming towards us and Theo abruptly pulls the car over. "Oh my God. Oh Skylar God are you okay?" I ask.

"What?" He asks.

"Are you alright?" I ask again.

"No I-" He starts but I cut him off.

"Are you hurt is there anything that-" I stop and move closer to him.

"Skylar stop. No I'm not I'm far from okay. Jesus." He says

Theo's POV

"Are you hurt?!" Skylar asks.

"Sky what is the matter with you? I almost just killed you and you wanna know if I'm okay?" I question getting angry with her.

"Yeah I wanna make sure you're okay!" She says.

"What the fuck is wrong with you?! Do you not see that I am bad for you?!" I say.

"Theo!" She yells.

"You need to get away from me. You need to get tuw fuck away me! Skylar ge- get out of my car." I say as she begins to cry.

"No I'm not gonna get out of your car!" She yells.

I reach over to open the door, "Get out of my car! Get the fuck out of my car! Get out! Get the fuck out if my car!" I yell at her.

"Oh my God Theo." She says turning toward the car door.

"Jesus Christ!" I yell.

"Okay I'm sorry Theo. Ahhh!"

"What are you- Holy fuck! Skylar!" As I saw her get hut by a car.
