No ones POV:
Lauren walked through the school hallway, head up high while her cute high heels clicked along the floor. Her short mini skirt that made all the guys stare curved her body nicely. Her cropped tank top showed off her toned stomach that she worked ages on. With her un-finished Biology homework in one hand and her Starbucks coffee cup in the other she walked down that hallway like it was a runway.
Lisa made her way through the hallway at the same time, her hair in a low ponytail and her converse sneakers were thrown on her feet in a hurry. Her black sweatpants and blue hoodie were two sizes too big for her and her face wore no makeup. Her backpack in one hand while she kept her head down, not in the mood to face her twin sister or anyone today.
"Don't be late today loser, I'm going out." Lauren said to Lisa while walking away to join her friends.
Lisa ignored the comment made by her annoying and rude twin sister. They may be twins but they were so different it was like they weren't even related. They were different in so many ways.
Lisa thought that Lauren hated her because she wasn't like her. Lauren thought Lisa hated her because she was bitchy. They both secretly wanted to mend their broken wounds with each other but the thought of them being friends was unimaginable.
Lauren couldn't remember when Lisa stopped talking too her but apparently it was because she changed. Lauren thought Lisa was being ridiculous but Lauren could see the changes she made. She became popular, skinny and the girl that every guy wanted. Lisa didn't change but stopped talking to her sister when she hanged out with the people that used to bully her, Lauren didn't know that.
They fought everyday, even when they were too tired to fight anymore. Their parents would yell at them to stop but they wouldn't, they couldn't, once they started they didn't stop. Their parents were getting so sick of the two of them fighting that they had a holiday reservation booked for the two of them, the girls didn't know yet but the holiday was planned for them to work things out.
— end of school —
Lauren's POV:
"Lauren, call your twin sister down into the lounge for a meeting!" My mom called out to me while I was watching TV. I shout up at her and tell her to hurry up.
"What Mom?" I ask impatiently as Lisa finally sits on the chair.
"We're all so sick of you two fighting non stop, so your dad and I have decided to send you both on a bonding holiday for two weeks, alone." My mouth drops open and so does Lisa's.
"You can't do that to me!" I stand up and yell. I storm out of the room, angry at my parents and at Lisa. These two weeks will be hell.
— skip two weeks —
So, turned out that our parents were sending us to Mauritius for a holiday. I love the beach but I mean, I'm really not excited for this holiday.
As we exit off of the plane, we now stand in the Mauritius airport. Everybody looks so happy, carefree expect for the two of us. We definitely stand out in the crowd.
Not a word is shared between us as we make our way into the cab and into our hotel room. It was a huge room with an amazing view of the beach. Christina always told me that, before any of us was born and it was just her and Mike, our parents would take them here all the time. I miss her. I miss all my siblings, I wish they could have come with us.
"So, do you want to do anything?" Lisa asks me nervously as she plops herself down onto the double bed that we share. I carry on, unpacking my stuff, avoiding the question.
"Look, Lauren. I know these two weeks are going to be unpleasant for the both of us. Please can we just be civil and not ignore each other?" Lisa tells me, defeated. I sigh and turn around to face her.
"Okay," I say putting on a small fake smile. Come to think of it, I really don't know why I hate her. Oh wait, maybe it was the fact that she called me a bitch and a slut and how much I've changed when I hanged out with other people. Yea, that's it.
I sit down on the bed next to her while I begin to watch a movie on the TV, we watch a movie together in silence before Lisa speaks up,
"Lauren, why do you hate me?"
"You called me a slut and a bitch Lisa. We were supposed to be best friends but you don't call your best friend things like what you called me," I shrug and turn my attention back to the movie.
"And, why do you hate me?" I ask her, a question popping into my head.
"I don't hate you Lauren. I hated the fact that you barely spent any time with me anymore and instead you hanged out with the people who used to bully me in eighth grade. Yea, but I didn't tell you because I didn't want my loving sister to worry about me." She says, the last sentence being sarcastic.
"Wait, you got bullied? By Clara, Kate and Lindsay?" I ask confused and she nods.
"But they're the sweetest people ever!" I complain and see her roll her eyes.
"Maybe to you Lauren," She says bluntly.
"I'm sorry Lisa," I begin and suddenly feel really bad and sympathetic for her.
"Don't worry about it, it's not your fault. You didn't know," She tells me shrugging but I know it means more to her than she's putting off.
"You could've told me,"
"You wouldn't believe me and you know it." Lisa tells me harshly and I bite my tongue, knowing it's true.
"Can we please just put this behind us? Truth is, I miss you, a lot. And I hate when we fight. But please Lisa, can we forget this ever happened?" I ask her kindly, scared for the answer.
"I miss you too. But, what's been done has been done. And there's no going back. Lauren, we used to be the closest sisters ever, maybe because we were twins but still! Now look at us, we've drifted. I don't know if we can ever go back to the way we were," Lisa tells me and a pang of hurt hits my heart.
"I know," I say, sighing. Come to think of it, I really do miss Lisa and I forgive her. I feel so bad for her.
"I'm so sorry Lisa," I tell her kindly.
"I'm so sorry too Lauren,"
"I understand that we can't be close like we used to be. Can we at least try to get along? Like old times." I ask her.
"I don't know Lauren. Won't it be hard for you to not hate me?" Guilt and hurt runs around my body as Lisa says those words.
"I'll spend more time with you Lisa, I promise. I really want to mend these broken wounds we have," I tell her, promising.
"Me too Lauren. I don't know though," Lisa says, looking down.
"Maybe some wounds aren't meant to be fixed," I tell her, giving up and sighing at the thought of never getting my sister back.
"What's done has been done. You can't fix it now, it's too late." Lisa tells me.
"Can we try to be nice to each other?" I ask her and she responds with a nod.
"Okay," I reply.
Maybe some old wounds aren't ever meant to be healed. Maybe things will be better in the future. But for now, I really don't know if they will.
