Chapter 26

Saturday

Jade's pov

"Dad please It's just one friend" I said. "I'm sorry Jade my answer is no. I have a lot of stuff to do this weekend and I don't have time to watch over you and your friend" He said as I followed him to his room. "I can watch myself and you know that. Jack and I can watch over her and ourselves" I said. "That's what I'm afraid of. I just don't want you to get hurt" He said.

"Dad I have your number on speed dial, I have 911 on speed dial, I have a pocket knife on me, and I have a gun under my pillow, and bullets in my sock also under my pillow. I also have Jack here with me to help me fight and keep me safe" I said as he looked down and sighed.

"Fine you can have the sleep over. But you better keep your word" he said and I hued him tightly. "I won't let you down" I said and ran up to my room.

"What did say?" Jack asked. "He said yes" I squealed. "Really cool" He said and I quickly called Lily.

"Hello" Lily said

"Pack a bag and get your ass over here" I said and hung up.

I went downstairs and said goodbye to my dad. Jack and I sat downstairs and waited for Lily to come. "Can we at east watch TV or something" Jack said and reached for the remote. He turned on the TV and we started watching rugrats.

There was a knock on the door. I stood up and walked over to the door. Just to make sure it wasn't anybody else I looked through the window. And sure enough it was Lily. I opened the door and let here in.

"Hey Lily what's up" Jack said as I took her bag up to my room. "Nothing much. Just going through a lot of family issues" She said as we all sat down on the couch. "What kind of issues?" I asked

"Well my mom and my dad are getting a divorce. My dad Is moving to L.A. He wants me to move in with him. My oldest brother is moving out. And my mom keeps arguing with my dad. I'm glad you invited me over. I needed a break from that house" She said and smiled.

"I don't even think I could say my life is worst than yours. Jack you don't even have a dad. You don't live with your mom anymore. Your bother already moved out. And Jade. Your moms in jail. Your dad is barely ever home-" "That's enough Lily" Jack said cutting her off. Lily finally looked at m and saw I was crying.

"Oh I'm sorry" Lily said as I ran upstairs to my room.

Jack's pov

"You know Lily there are sometimes where It's best to keep your mouth shut" I said and started walking up the stairs. "Jack I said I was sorry" She said and I looked back at her.

"Well guess what. an apology Isn't going to fix what you've already destroyed" I said and walked into Jade's room.
